Product Review -- Hourglass Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette

I'm a fan of the Hourglass Strobe Lighting Powders, but I've found the highlight they provide is rather subtle.

It works well for everyday when you want a softer glow, though it doesn't give me the bold look that I want sometimes.

So I was intrigued when I heard about the Hourglass Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette, which Hourglass describes as offering the brightest highlight to the skin.

As far as I can tell, the Metallic Strobe Powders are only available in the limited edition palette at the moment, but I would imagine that they'll be released separately at some point.

The palette comes in silver metallic packaging that resembles Hourglass' other compacts. There's a decent size mirror on the inside that works well for touch-up.

The palette features three shades: Absolute Strobe Light, a pale pink; Pure Strobe Light, a beige champagne; and Lucent Strobe Light, a golden peach.

These highlighters are definitely brighter than the Strobe Lighting Powders, but they don't contain any chunky glitter or shimmer. While they can look fairly intense on the skin, they can also be blended out for a softer, sheerer look.

The powders have a very smooth, soft texture, and have an extremely lightweight appearance on the skin, so they really do provide a lit from within type glow.

I am absolutely in love, in case you couldn't tell.

Absolute Strobe is my personal favorite, but Pure Strobe and Lucent Strobe are also lovely.

My one complaint about the palette is the price -- it retails for $60, though if you consider you're getting three shades, it's not a terrible deal.
