Product Review -- Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick

Liquid lipsticks have grown on me over the past year or so.

I used to swear them off completely because I thought they were all too drying and uncomfortable.

I've realized, though, that it comes down to the formula. There are plenty of liquid lipsticks that, while not hydrating in the least, are comfortable to wear.

And you really can't beat the longevity of a liquid lipstick.

So I was excited to try the Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick.

Because let's face it -- it's tough to find a liquid lipstick that costs just $4.99.

Product Review -- LORAC California Dreaming Eye Shadow Palette

I'm a big fan of LORAC's eye shadows, so I've bought pretty much all of the major palettes that they've put out over the past few years.

Recently, they came out with the I Love Brunch Pro Palette, which is full of all sorts of lovely pastel shades, and I gave serious thought to picking it up.

But while it is certainly gorgeous, I know that pastels aren't really my thing so I wouldn't get too much use out of it.

And then when I saw the LORAC California Dreaming Eye Shadow Palette, which was also released recently and is full of shades that are supposedly inspired by Los Angeles in winter, I knew that it was a much better use of my beauty budget for the month.

Product Review -- Viseart Theory Palette

Like pretty much everyone, I became pretty curious about the Viseart eye shadows a couple of years when the online beauty community was all abuzz about them.

Their normal shadow palettes are $80, and I think it's difficult for many of us to justify spending that much money on a single makeup item. As a result, it took me a while to actually get around to purchasing one -- which I did early last year with Christmas gift cards, and I still haven't gotten around to reviewing yet, if you can believe it.

I keep planning to and then a bunch of new or limited edition products come out, and it keeps getting pushed back.

This Christmas, I received one of the smaller Theory Palettes (from my very generous sister -- thank you!), and I decided to review this one before the large Eyeshadow Palettes because I thought it might be a better starting point for most people.

Product Review -- ColourPop Pressed Shadows

I've been a huge fan of ColourPop since I first tried their Super Shock Shadows and Lippie Stix several years back.

In particular, I love the Super Shock Shadows because they combine all the best things about powder shadows and cream shadows in a single product.

Still, there are some issues that arise with these shadows, such as sometimes having trouble finding brushes that work with them (particularly in the crease), and I'm a certifiable makeup junkie, so I was very excited when I heard that ColourPop was coming out with Pressed Powder Shadows.

The shadows are available as both singles and a couple of pre-made palettes (and currently, as part of the Valentine's Day collection, some duos are available as well). Right now, you can get a free cardboard palette -- with a pretty white and silver star design -- to place the shadows in if you purchase 4 singles.

I purchased one of the pre-made palettes and 5 of the single shadows.

Product Review -- Tarte Maneater Eyeshadow Palette

I love Tarte's eyeshadows (in case you couldn't tell from the three reviews in the past couple of weeks), but I kind of feel like they're putting out too many palettes these days.

I just can't keep up.

Still, despite the fact that I already have a ton, the Maneater Eyeshadow Palette caught my eye.

Well, two colors in particular did, but more on that in a bit.

Product Review -- Wet n Wild photofocus Foundation

I am pretty sure that I was still in high school the last time I bought a Wet n Wild foundation.

I wasn't particularly makeup savvy back then, but I remember that it didn't do much to cover my acne and smelled kind of funny so I've stayed away from Wet n Wild foundations and concealers since then.

But I'm just as curious as the next makeup junkie so I had to give the new photofocus Foundation a try.

The concept behind the foundation is that they've tested in 7 different lighting situations and it's guaranteed not to give you any flashback in photos. That seems a little weird to me because I've never heard of anyone having that issue with their foundation if it doesn't have SPF in it -- it's usually those white finishing powders that cause flashback issues.

Product Review -- Tarte Tarteist Pro To Go Amazonian Clay Palette

Last week, I reviewed the Too Faced White Chocolate Chip Palette, which is a small palette that's ideal for travel.

Unfortunately, the shadows in the palette are rather lackluster so while it may be convenient to toss in your bag, it's not particularly noteworthy otherwise.

Tarte's Tarteist Pro To Go Amazonian Clay Palette is a similar concept -- the palette is small enough to toss in virtually any bag and many pockets, though it doesn't contain as many shades or as much product as the Too Faced palette.

However, despite only offering 0.9 grams of product, the Tarteist Pro To Go features pretty fantastic shadows so for me, it's a much better option.

Product Review -- Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Volume II Eyeshadow Palette

About a year ago, Tarte came out with their Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow Palette and I fell instantly in love.

I love the super creamy texture of the shadows so much that I remember thinking I wish Tarte would use it for all of their shadows.

Now, Tarte has come out with some pretty good shadows in the past year (the Tarte Pro Amazonian Clay Palette tops the list), they didn't take my advice about the Rainforest of the Sea formula.

But fortunately, they did decide to come out with a Rainforest of the Seat Volume II Eyeshadow Palette, which means eight new shadows in that fabulous formula.
