Product Review -- Makeup Revolution New-Trals vs. Neutrals Professional Eyeshadow Palette

I'm a sucker for any and pretty much all kinds of makeup, but the fastest way for a makeup brand to hook me is to put out an eye shadow palette that features warm, peachy, rusty, reddish tones.

I can't say no to that color family ... ever.

So when I trying to pick out an eye shadow palette to try from Makeup Revolution, the New-Trals vs. Neutrals Professional Eyeshadow Palette seemed like the natural choice.

Makeup Revolution describes the palette as a "new generation of natural shades," which is a pretty accurate description, I think. There is one row of traditional natural shades and one row that features peach, orange, rust, and burgundy tones, so it turns out to be a really versatile palette.
It comes in a black plastic compact that has a matte finish. There is a good sized mirror on the inside that would work well for doing your makeup if you're traveling and a double-ended brush with synthetic bristles that features a flat shader side and a fluffy blending side.

The palette includes 16 shades: Bias, a beige with a satin finish; Neutral, a matte light warm brown; Personal, a shimmery light peach; Vogue, a deep orange with a satin finish; Trend, a matte warm brown; New-tral, a coral with a satin finish; Tone, a metallic burgundy; Custom, a chocolate brown with subtle gold micro shimmer; Cool, a matte ivory; Style, a metallic champagne; Partial, a metallic mauve; Mode, a shimmery golden brown; Adapt, a matte light cool brown; Buff, a metallic taupe; Suit, a matte gray brown; and Strong, a dark purple with subtle purple micro shimmer.

First of all, I absolutely love the color range in this palette. There are so many gorgeous warm shades that can help you create a bold eye, but there are also plenty of more traditional natural shades for more subtle looks.

Makeup Revolution also did a great job when it comes to the depth of colors too -- there are highlight, lid, mid-tone/transition, crease, and dark, smoky shades, so you have everything you need for a complete look in one palette.

From l. to r.: Bias, Neutral, Personal, Vogue, Trend, New-Tral, Tone, Custom

From l. to r.: Cool, Style, Partial, Mode, Adapt, Buff, Suit, Strong
In terms of the shadow formula, I'm pretty impressed with that too. A couple of shades, mainly the mattes, are somewhat sheer, but they build up really easily. The rest of the shades are nicely pigmented, though, and have a nice, smooth texture that applies and blends easily.

Especially when you consider that the palette is only $10.

That's right -- you get 16 really nice shades for just $10.

It's a serious bargain, so I definitely recommend it if you're a fan of the warm color selection.

You can find the palette at Ulta.

Have you tried the Makeup Revolution New-Trals vs. Neutrals Professional Eyeshadow Palette? Are you a fan?
