'Tis The Season: Favorite Products For Fall

I'm a firm believer that you should wear whatever makeup shades that you like no matter what time of year it is.

I mean, if bright orange lipstick is your favorite, you should rock it year round, not just in warm weather.

But I'll admit that there are certain colors that I associate with specific seasons, so I tend to wear them more regularly at those times of the year.

And I'll also confess that traditional fall colors tend to be my absolute favorites -- all the rich, warm shades of plum, burgundy, rust, copper, and bronze totally float my boat.

So I thought I'd share some of my favorite products for the fall (I'm kind of jumping the gun a bit, given that it's still in the 80s here in NY and fall doesn't officially start for another week or so, but like I said, it's my favorite season for makeup colors so I couldn't wait.) in case you're in the market for some cool weather-ready shades:

I love this shadow year-round, but it's one of my favorite lid shades for fall in particular. It's a seriously shimmery sort of amber gold shade that pairs well with all the other warm fall colors that I love. It's a budget-friendly product too, retailing for about $7.99.

The e.l.f. Baked Eye Shadow formula definitely isn't the most pigmented one around. But you can intensify the color by applying it wet, and I also find that it builds up quite nicely too, so really, it just requires a little more work than some other shadows. For me, Burnt Plum is such a lovely crease or outer corner shade for fall that I'm willing to put in the work. And talk about budget-friendly! These babies are only $3 each.

If there's one eye shadow that's pretty much fall in a pan, it has to be this one. Flame Thrower is a rich, metallic copper that can seriously make blue eyes pop. It has a very intense finish, though, so I find that it's best paired with matte or satin shadows. You can pick it up for $9.99.

NARS Blush in Dolce Vita

I love berry and wine blush shades for the fall, and Dolce Vita is a kind of a cross between the two. It's got a matte finish too, if that's the look you prefer for the fall. This one is a little pricey, retailing for $30, but I feel like everyone should have at least one NARS blush in his or her collection.

In cooler weather, I love cream blushes, and the Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Sticks are a great option at the drugstore. I'm in love with the shade Make a Mauve for fall because it's kind of a plummy berry shade that blends out really well -- and it's only about $8.99 too.

Maybelline Creamy Matte Lip Color in Touch of Spice

Matte lipsticks always seem to be trendy for fall, and the Maybelline Creamy Matte Lip Color line is a formula that feels really comfortable even in colder weather. I love the Touch of Spice shade for an everyday fall lip color. It's kind of a mid-tone reddish plum that's bold without being overly dramatic (especially if you have fair to light skin). It's not too expensive either -- I paid about $8 for mine.

If you want a slightly vampier look, I absolutely love ColourPop's LBB. It's a rich plum wine with a matte finish that really makes a bold statement. Best of all, all of the Lippie Stix are only $5 each.
