In the Moment -- 4 Current Faves

I haven't done a monthly faves in forever, and I've learned that I can't commit to doing those regularly.

Some months, I have a ton of things that I love, while other months, I'm trying so many new products that I'm sure enough about any of them to call them faves -- and I hate the pressure of trying to randomly come up with faves.

But I always find it interesting to see what (not necessarily new) products other beauty junkies are enjoying at any given moment, so I want to get back to at least doing favorites sporadically.

I'm not going to call them monthly faves, though -- they're just going to be a few products that I'm loving at a given moment.

So here's what I'm reaching for most often these days:

bareMinerals Bare Skin Foundation

I've had the bareMinerals Bare Skin Foundation for over a year, and it's one I frequently come back to after trying new products. That's because it offers the best coverage for a product that looks so natural on the skin.

I have it in the lightest shade, Bare Porcelain 01, which works really well with my fair skin. It's a pricier foundation at $29, but I think it's worth it.

I don't usually use cream shadows on their own because I find that they fade and crease too easily, even with a primer underneath. Who would've thought that e.l.f's Smudge Pots, which are only $3 each, would be the first cream shadow to work for me?

My absolute favorite shade is Cruisin' Chic, which is sort of a pale golden taupe -- I can wear it all over the lid on its own on days when I'm in a hurry, or use it as the base for a lot of wearable, everyday eye looks. Everyone should have this little baby in their makeup bag.

Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Eye Shadow Palette

Some of my favorite shades from the Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette
It still feels like summer here in NY, but I've already moved onto to more fall-inspired makeup looks. So I've been loving my Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Eye Shadow Palette, which features so many warm burgundy, gold, copper, plum, and brown shades. It's got a mix of mattes, satin, and glitter shades, too, so it's easy to put together a balanced look.

Best of all, the palette is a reasonable $19.99 for 20 shadows, so you get plenty of bang for your buck.

ColourPop Lippie Stix and Lippie Pencil in Tootsi

I've had ColourPop's Lippie Stix and Lippie Pencil in Tootsi since the shade came out months ago, and I kept meaning to do a post about it because I've been head over heels in love ever since. ColourPop describes Tootsi as a cool-toned grey-beige or "greige", but I see almost as a mauve-y shade. It's just so wearable and perfect for everyday while still adding a little bit of oomph to your look. If I wear makeup 5 days a week, I've been wearing Tootsi at least 3 of those days.

Both the Lippie Stix and Pencil have a matte finish, which is perfect for fall, and they're only $5 each so they're very budget-friendly.

What products have you been loving lately?

  1. Your favourites give a very fall-like feeling. ^^ Strangely enough the Tootsi Lippie is the one Lipstick I´d want from colour pop. Very good to know that it´s one of your favourites - it makes me even more sure that I want it.

    1. I think everyone should have Tootsi. I really do think it's one of those rare universal colors that'll work on nearly every skin tone. :D
