Product Review -- Tarte Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette

I'm usually a fan of Tarte's eyeshadow palettes, but the Tartelette and Tartelette in Bloom (along the the Tartetist Pro Palette) are probably two of the best that they've ever come out with.

The Tartelette in Bloom has particularly become one of my favorite everyday shadow palettes.

That's why I was so excited to hear that they were adding another palette to the range.

The Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette  features the same design and layout as the other two Tartelette Palettes, but like the Tartelette in Bloom Palette, it has a mix of matte and shimmery shades -- though all of them lean toward the warm end of the spectrum.
The palette comes in a hard plastic compact with cool black and red crackle artwork on the lid. Inside, there is a generous size mirror that stays open without propping it up against anything, so it works well for doing your makeup while traveling.

There are 12 shadows in the palette: S'more, a matte pinky beige; Sunrise, a satin golden beige; Sunset, a shimmery bronze; Crackle, a dark brown with gold glitter; Cashmere, a matte pale peach; Warmth, a matte terracotta; Flame, a metallic rust; Cozy, a matte brick; Candle, a shimmery champagne; Latte, a matte tan; Simmer, a shimmery copper; and Fireside, a matte deep plum.

The shadow formula in this palette seems to be the same as the one used in the Tarlette and Tartelette in Bloom Palettes. All of the shadows, matte and shimmer shades alike, are smooth, creamy, and nicely pigmented.

There are a couple of shades such as Crackle that feel a little dry, but they still apply well and are easy to build up to as dark as you'd like.

From l. to r.: S'more, Sunrise, Sunset, Crackle, Casmhere, Warmth

From l. to r.: Flame, Cozy, Candle, Latte, Simmer, Fireside

The color selection for the palette is really  lovely. Unlike the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette (which I do love, by the way), it doesn't lean too red, so I think it's a much more wearable for the average makeup user than many other warm palettes.

That said, if you're a makeup junkie like me, you probably have most of these shades in your collection already so the palette probably doesn't stand out as anything particularly new or must-have worthy.

Tarte Tartelette Toasted Palette idea card

I do think it would be a really nice gift idea for a casual makeup wearer who may be looking to mix things up a bit.

And if you're like me and just want to collect along the palettes in a given line, you won't regret picking this one up either.

It retails for $46, and you can find it on the Tarte website or at Sephora or Ulta

Have you tried the Tarte Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette? Are you a fan?
