Product Review -- Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter

I am a certified sucker for two things: cute packaging and highlighters.

(Well, dogs, pizza, and margaritas too, but that's kind of off topic...)

So I could only resist the Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighters for so long.

Because not only do these highlighters promise unparalleled radiance, they come in adorable heart-shaped compacts with a shiny metallic that corresponds to the shade of the highlighter. For example, I bought the highlighter in Blinded By The Light, which is a champagne shade, and the compact is a silver color.

There is a small mirror on the inside of the compact that's really only suitable for doing touch-ups.

The highlighter is supposed to combine the best of powder, liquid, baked, and cream formulas so it has smooth texture. It definitely feels silky and lightweight and blends easily into the skin.

Because of its thin texture, though, it is somewhat sheer. It isn't one of those wham-in-your-face metallic highlighters that can blind someone at the right angle -- it's a little more subtle than that. I wouldn't call it natural exactly because it still delivers serious glow but it's a highlighter that works really well for daytime.

You can layer it easily, though, for evening when you want a bolder highlight. The formula's so lightweight that it won't look chunky or cakey at all.

It's a really lovely highlighter and I've used it a ton since I bought it -- but it costs $30 and I'm not entirely sure that it's that much better than more affordable highlighters I've used.

You know I love the Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts Triple Baked Highlighter  and I even think you can get a similar effect with one of the e.l.f. Baked Highlighters.

The Love Light Prismatic Highlighters come in a two other shades: a gold and a pink. I feel like Blinded By The Light, the champagne, is probably the most versatile, though.

You can find the highlighter on the Too Faced website, as well as at Sephora and Ulta.

Have you tried the Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighters? What's your go-to highlighter at the moment?
