Product Review -- NYX HD Photogenic Concealer

I'm beginning to get a little low on my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, which is one of my favorite concealers of all-time.

While I've been debating whether or not to buy another tube -- if you're thinking "Why would you ever debate that when you love it so much?" it's just that it's a pretty pricey concealer ($30) and it's not that I object to spending that much on makeup, but there are always so many new products that I want to try that sometimes I'd rather budget my makeup funds toward something new rather something tried and true. Probably silly, but that's just me -- I have been on the hunt for a more budget-friendly concealer that could fill in for the Radiant Creamy Concealer.

Enter the NYX HD Photogenic Concealer.

This concealer has been on the market for a while, and I've been meaning to try it for a while. Boy, am I glad I finally did. It may not be quite as perfect as the NARS, but considering that it's only $5 compared to $30, it is definitely close enough.

Like the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, the HD Photogenic Concealer comes in a plastic tube with a doe-foot applicator. (I will note that the NARS tube contains .22 ounces while the NYX tube has .11 ounces so it's half the size.)

In terms of formula, the NYX is pretty similar to the NARS concealer. It offers medium to full coverage and has thick, creamy texture. It blends easily into the skin and is slightly hydrating so it's ideal for under the eyes -- where I haven't had any issue with creasing, though I always set it with some type of powder.

But it isn't so hydrating that I can't use it on the rest of my face either. I find that it works just as well covering up redness or a breakout as it does dark circles.

I purchased the concealer in Fair, which is a pale shade with slight peachy undertones, and I find that it's a good match for my super fair skin. It works especially well under the eyes for cancelling out blue shadows.

The concealer actually comes in 23 shades, including some color correcting tones, such as yellow, lavender, and green, so there should be an option for a pretty wide range of skin tones.

You can purchase the concealer for $5 on the NYX website, Ulta, or anywhere that you can find NYX products.

Have you tried the NYX HD Photogenic Concealer? What's your favorite concealer these days?
