Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo

Can a girl really have too many highlighters?
I've mentioned before that in addition to blushes and any and all peachy colored makeup, I am something of a highlighter fiend.

I just love the glowy look that a good highlighter can give, and even though I've got a bunch in my drawer that do the job really well, I can never resist trying a new one.

Too Faced's Candlelight Glow Highlighting Duo came out with their 2012 spring collection, and like too many items in that collection, I had to have it as soon as I saw a photo.  I'm a sucker like that.

Fortunately, my impulse was a good one because the Candlelight Glow Duo is a lovely subtle highlighter that delivers a nice, natural glow *and* a more dramatic, bold highlighter all in one.

I've sampled Too Faced's original Candlelight highlighter quite a few times in Sephora, but I've never been particularly impressed.  Well, at least not enough to actually pony up the $27 for it.  What makes Candlelight Glow different is that you actually get two highlighting shades in the compact, so the product is much more versatile and customizable really.

The white side of the compact offers the most intense highlighting effect and gives the skin a soft golden glow.  The pink side is much more subtle and doesn't really show up as any particular color on the skin, just a nice, natural glow.  If you dust your brush down the center portion of the compact so you get a little of each side, you wind up with a subtle highlight with a lovely golden tint.

Usually, I sweep my brush across the middle area to get a little of both powders. I find that this gives the best payoff while still looking subtle and natural enough for day. At night, I'll usually use the white powder by itself since I like my highlighter to be a little more dramatic then.

Both powders are very smooth and blend across the skin nicely.  There's also a nice big mirror inside the compact that's perfect for touch-ups.

I'd definitely recommend Candlelight Glow to to anyone who wants a nice subtle highlight for day and a more dramatic, obvious highlight for the evening - with this duo, you can get the best of both worlds.

What is your favorite highlighter?
