This and That: Lavanila Vanilla Summer, Dr. Jart+ BB Creams, Sales & Miscellaneous

This will be another odds and ends post since I have a few little tidbits that I wanted to share.

Lavanila Vanilla Summer Rollerball
1. I received my free rollerball of Lavanila's Vanilla Summer from Sephora the other day. (You can read about how to get your own here.) Oh my God!  As delicious as the description of the scent sounded, the genuine article is even yummier. Vanilla, coconut, pineapple and other tropical goodness all in one amazing scent - it really is like summer in a bottle.  Supposedly, the scent is limited edition so I'm kind of feeling pressure to rush out and buy a full-size spray bottle.  It's that good.

Dr. Jart+ Premium BB Cream (l.) & Water Fuse BB Cream (r.)
 2. I wrote about Dr. Jart+'s Premium BB Cream after I received a sample in my Sephora Sun Safety Kit.  I recently got a sample of the Dr. Jart+Water Fuse BB Cream, which is supposed to be more hydrating for dry skin.  Like the Premium BB Cream, it's slightly too dark for my skin tone - but oddly enough, I think I like the Premium version better for my dry skin.  The Water Fuse BB Cream didn't feel all that moisturizing to me, and it seemed to have a thicker consistency so it was harder to blend.  I won't be buying either in full-size, but I thought the dry-skinned folks out there might like the heads up.

3. You can get 10% at Tarte's website during their Splish Splash Sale. In addition, you can get a free eyeshadow brush when you purchase a cream eyeshadow. Use the code ALA from now until May 31st.  I love so many of Tarte's products, but I'd definitely recommend their Amazonian Clay Blushes, Maracuja Creaseless Concealer and Lip Surgence Pencils for a start.  I'd totally be taking advantage of this sale if I hadn't already blown through my makeup budget for the month...

4. Am I the only one disappointed in MAC's Hey Sailor collection?  I usually look forward to the summer collections and pick up a couple of items in the fun, summer-y packaging, but these year's offerings just leave me cold. The colors just don't seem all that special, and none of the new products really grab me.  It's just as well, really, because as I've said, I don't have any money right now but I'm still kind of bummed about it.

5. And finally, on a slightly off-topic note - Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 DVD is no joke.  A friend sent it to me because she thought it was a really good workout - and she wasn't kidding. I did it for the first time yesterday, and I'm still feeling it in my thighs and shoulders.  It's got 4 different workouts that mix strength, cardio and abs intervals, so if you're looking for a good general workout DVD, I'd recommend it.

Any makeup or other tidbits you want to share?
