It Cosmetics Airbrush Illuminizer & Brush

It Cosmetics Airbrush Illuminizer & Luxe wand bell brush

Just as I am a total blush addict, I have a slight problem when it comes to highlighters.

I simply cannot resist them.

Maybe it's because I've been on the hunt for the perfect highlighter for years and I just couldn't seem to find one that gave me the look I was going for.  I've found plenty that I like - some that I might even say I loved - but none that delivered that perfect lit-from-within glow without a hint of glitter or obvious shimmer to be seen.

Until I found the It Cosmetics Airbrush Illuminizer, that is.

It may actually be holy grail material actually.

The Airbrush Illuminizer comes in a 6.8 gram pot.

I'd read quite a bit about this product before I actually purchased it - all rave, rave reviews.  But I was somewhat skeptical since I've read glowing reviews (no pun intended) of other highlighters in the past, but none delivered that natural glow that I was looking for.  Still, I decided to bite the bullet and give the It Cosmetics Illuminizer a try since I've used a few of their other products (Bye Bye Undereyes Concealer and Bye Bye Pores Finishing Powder) and liked them quite a bit.

While It Cosmetics has its own website, you can only purchase the Airbrush Illuminzer from QVC.  I had to go on the waitlist for it - I guess because it's in such high demand - and it took about a month to get it.

I will say that it was definitely worth the wait.

The Airbrush Illumiziner is an extremely finely-milled powder - without a hint of obvious shimmer or glitter to had. It's almost white-gold in color, so it provides the loveliest sheen to the skin without looking too obvious or garish for daytime.

As per It Cosmetics' suggestions, I didn't remove all of the sticker over the sifter so too much of the product doesn't come out at a time.

The Illuminizer costs $38.25 (+$4.47 s/h), which definitely seems like a lot for even the greatest highlighter in the world. However, it comes with a brush to apply the product - and I've got to say even you don't think the Illuminizer isn't worth the price, the brush definitely is.  It is the softest brush that I have ever felt in my life, no joke.

The brush isn't particularly dense, so it doesn't pack on too much product which makes it perfect for using with the Illuminizer.  But it is fairly large, making it difficult to highlight smaller areas of your face if that's what your after.  When that's what I'm doing, I usually use my Sephora Stippling Brush 113 (with bright pink metallic handle) or an oversized flat eye shadow brush that I got from Coastal Scents.  However, I also like to layer the Illuminizer over matte blushes when I want a little more of a glow on my cheeks and the wand bell brush is perfect for that.

It Cosmetics also suggests that the Illuminizer be used across the entire face for an all-over glow.  As I mentioned, the product doesn't have chunky glitter or obvious shimmer so I think that it could definitely work that way (though I haven't tried it yet) - and the brush would work well for that type of application since it's fluffy and not too dense.

And did I mention that it is the softest brush in creation?

Because it seriously is.

Sometimes, I find myself brushing it across my cheek without any product at all because it just feels that good.

The Illuminizer also comes with a puff - though I'm not sure how you'd ever apply it that way.

The Illuminizer's useless puff
If you're hunting high and low for a really natural, glowy highlighter, I can't recommend the Airbrush Illuminizer enough.  It's available on waitlist on QVC's website right now, so you can sign up if interested.

What's your favorite highlighter?

    1. I wish you could feel the brush through your screen! It is amazing. Seriously, the softest brush I've ever felt... and I've felt my fair share. :)
