Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder in Milk Chocolate

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder in Milk Chocolate

Back when I posted my thoughts on Too Faced Summer Eye Palette, I mentioned that I'd gotten some other goodies as well.  I'm not sure what's taken me so long to discuss the Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder in Milk Chocolate, but better late than never.

Because it's a pretty great product.

With super fair skin, bronzer is pretty much a useless product.  You'd think that of everyone, pale folks like me would benefit from a little faux tanning, but the problem is that it's nearly impossible to find a bronzer that looks natural and not like you caked a bunch of dirt on such light skin.

Now I've kind of got a double whammy because my fair skin also has pink undertones, which usually clash with the warm tones in bronzers so I wind up looking like oompa loompa-esque instead sun-kissed.

So while I have a few bronzers in my collection that I sometimes use for contouring, I'd pretty much given up on the whole product category.

Bronzers just weren't for me.

But when I heard Too Faced was coming out with another shade in their Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder - more specifically a lighter shade, Milk Chocolate - I was intrigued.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer

I've tried the original Chocolate Soleil Bronzer because it was included in the Too Faced Sweet Dreams Palette, and surprisingly, I could contour with it if - and this is a big if - I used an extremely light hand. On the whole, though, I've always thought it was a good product - matte, but smooth and easy to blend, no traces of orange, etc. I bet it's a lovely bronzer if you aren't as pale as Casper.

The Milk Chocolate shade has all the same qualities as the Original  - but it's actually light enough to look natural on super fair skin.  I can contour with it, which is mainly how I use it, but I can actually wear it as an all-over bronzer too because it gives such a pretty golden, sun-kissed look.

And actually, when I compare the two now, the Original actually looks a little orange-y compared to the Milk Chocolate.  But maybe I'm just too smitten with the Milk Chocolate to be objective...

Like the Original, the Milk Chocolate has a delicious real cocoa smell that never fails to make me crave a chocolate cupcake.  I also love the gorgeous, mirrored bronze compact (even if it does show fingerprints fairly easily) and its nice, big mirror.  Now, it's a fairly pricey product - $29, I believe - but you can quite a bit of product (10 g) and if you're super fair like me and haven't been able to find a bronzer that works for you, it's definitely worth the expense.

What's your favorite bronzer?  Fair-skinned folks, do you wear all-over bronzer?

    1. They smell so delicious - just like devil's food cake! They also happen to be really nice bronzer - smooth and easy to blend. If you're fair, the Milk Chocolate is a fabulous color too. :)
