|Maybelline Coral Gleam & Too Faced Barely Legal|
If you've been reading along with this blog, you've probably realized that I've got it bad for coral and peach makeup products.
Mainly because I can't seem to shut up about it.
Well, I'm at it again since my favorite lip combination of the moment involves - you guessed it! - a coral lipstick and peach gloss.
I purchased Maybelline's Color Sensational Lipstick in Coral Gleam about a year ago because I thought it would be a great shade for summer. And I was right - it's a gorgeous coral shade that doesn't overpower my fair skin. However, while I love this lipstick, it can sometimes look a little too frosty my tastes (And I'm kind of a fan of frosty lipsticks...) so when I got a little sample of Too Faced's Glamour Gloss in Barely Legal, a sheer milky peach color, a few weeks back, I thought it would be perfect topper for Coral Gleam when I wanted to mute all the shimmery frost without really changing the pretty coral color.

And well, not to brag or anything, but I was totally right.

|See how frosty Maybelline Coral Gleam (top) is all by itself? And how layering Too Faced Barely Legal over it (bottom) totally neutralizes all that frost?|
It's a lovely combination that I've been wearing quite a bit lately and likely will continue to as the summer approaches.
While this post deals specifically with this lip combo, it's also a good reminder that there are always ways to tweak a lipstick if you aren't crazy about the finish. I don't know that there's any gloss in the world that can make the frosty baby pink lipstick I have in the back of my makeup drawer wearable, but there are several others that can definitely benefit from the aid of the right gloss.
What's your favorite lip combo at the moment? Are you a fan of frosty lipsticks? Do you have any tricks for tweaking the finish of a lipstick that you just don't like?
