A Few of My Favorite Things -- 3 Things I'm Loving at the Moment

2018 was such a blur for me that the idea of doing a yearly favorites post is just mind-boggling.

But there are a few products that I've been loving at the moment that I don't see myself doing full reviews of but are still worth sharing.

So here are some of my late 2018 faves:

Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Eye Shadow Palette

Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Palette

I bought this palette a few months back, and I have been obsessed with it ever since. I fully intended to do a full-on product review, but when I sat down to write it, the palette was sold out everywhere, including the Too Faced website.

It's still listed as sold out on the Too Faced's site, but there seems to be some indication that it might come back in stock so... if it does, I highly, highly recommend picking it up.

In fact, it's probably my favorite Too Faced palette in recent memory.

The shadows are al richly pigmented, smooth, creamy, and easy to blend, and the shades are all to die for. It's another warm-toned palette, but it's not chock full of all the usual reds and oranges. It's got some pinks and purples and even a olive-y green.

Just gorgeous.

Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray

Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray
I got this a while back in a Boxy Charm, and I was certainly more than a little skeptical. I've tried a million dewy or illuminating setting sprays over the past couple of years, and none of them really did much. And this one costs $31! That's a lot of money for a setting spray in my book.

But I've got to say, this actually does deliver the subtle, pretty glow that it promises. If you have dry or dull skin, you'll absolutely love it. (If you have oily skin, I don't think it's the best fit.)

It also has one of the finest mists I've ever found in a setting spray, so you never have to worry big, fat droplets hitting your face and creating splotches in your makeup.

I like this setting spray so much that when I finished the bottle that came in my Boxy Charm, I actually shelled out the $31 for another bottle. I try to save it for special occasions, though, because I still think it's pretty pricey and I don't want to go through it too quickly.

Stila Liquid Eye Shadows
Stila Liquid Eye Shadow in Twig (I lost my own photo of this shadow so I'm borrowing Stila's)
I bought a set of these liquid shadows a while back, but didn't actually try them for quite some time.

What a mistake!

These things are pretty amazing. They come in a range of finishes -- from more subtle sparkle and glow to intense glitter -- and just as wide a variety of colors, so there's bound to be an option for everyone.

The glitter-heavy shades are perfect for layering over other shadows in the center of the lid, while the shimmer/glow shades are ideal for all over the lid.  They don't budge either, so they're perfect for occasions when you need long-wearing eye makeup.

One of my personal favorite shades is Twig, which is a shimmery warm brown that looks gorgeous on blue eyes.
