Product Review -- Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer and Ethereal Setting Powder

Since I bought the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation, it's gone into my rotation of go-to foundations.

Meaning, it's one of those foundations that I can easily throw on and I know it'll always look good -- never cakey or greasy or patchy.

So I was interested in trying the Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer as soon as it came out -- I figured the formula would be good and I'm on board for anything that's described as radiant.

When it  first came out, though, the reviews I read made it clear that the lightest shade at the time was pretty dark so I knew it wouldn't be a good match for my super fair skin.

Fortunately, Too Faced recently added some new shades to the line, along with the Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder, so I figured it was the perfect time to try the other products in the Born This Way line.

The Born This Way Concealer comes in a plastic tube with a black and gold cap. It features a doe foot applicator that's somewhat flexible.

The concealer has a fairly thin consistency so it looks and feels pretty lightweight on the skin. It's creamy, but it doesn't blend as easily as some other concealers.

It doesn't really provide full coverage either -- I'd classify it more as medium -- so if you have extremely dark circles, scars, or blemishes, you'd probably want to use a color corrector under it.

That said, it does have a really nice finish. It's not overly radiant, but it does provide a subtle glow that has a nice highlighting effect.

I purchased the lightest shade, Fairest, which is a pretty good match for super fair skin. It has a slightly peachy undertone, though.

The concealer retails for $28, so it's pretty pricey. Personally, I like the Tarte Shape Tape ($25) or the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($30) a little better than the Born This Way.

You can purchase it on the Too Faced website, Sephora, and Ulta.

The Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder is supposed set your makeup with "a veil of perfecting radiance" for natural-looking, ethereal finish.

Um, that sounds pretty perfect to me.

It comes in a plastic tub with a black and gold lid.  Inside, there's a locking interior lid too, so you never wind up with powder flying everywhere when you open it.

The powder has a very lightweight, silky texture so it glides over the skin without sinking into pores, fine lines, or other textured areas.

I don't find that it has a particularly radiant finish, though -- but it doesn't look matte, dry, or flat either.  Instead, it has a natural, semi-matte finish that works well for my normal to dry skin.

(I realize a swatch of a translucent powder is kind of silly, but I thought it might help you get a better sense of the powder's finish.)

And I do find that the powder sets makeup very well so I use it both under my eyes and all over my face.

It is a really nice setting powder, so it's definitely worth checking out if you need one that's not too drying.

It retails for $32, and is available on the Too Faced website, Sephora, and Ulta.

Have you tried the Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer and/or Ethereal Setting Powder? Are you a fan?
