Product Review -- essence Pure Nude Highlighter

Like a lot of people, I'm pretty much obsessed with highlighter.

It's that finishing touch to my makeup that always seems to take it up a notch.

I mean, who wouldn't want to be glowing to the heavens at every possible moment, right?

That means I'm always game to try a new highlighter -- I'm determined to have one for every occasion, so it only makes sense. You know what I mean: warm highlighters, cool highlighters, natural-looking highlighters, super metallic highlighters, and so forth and so on.

The essence Pure Nude Highlighter has to be one of the more versatile options that I've tried.

The highlighter comes in a simple plastic compact with a clear lid so you can see the product inside. There is only one shade available on the Ulta website, but it does have a name: 10 be my highlight.

The shade is a warm golden nude. It doesn't contain any glitter, and it isn't overly metallic, though it does have a very pretty sheen on the skin.

The powder has a very smooth, thin consistency so it applies and blends easily into the skin.

In general, I would say that the highlighter has a subtle or natural look on the skin.

However, because the powder is fairly thin, you can layer it to get it to build up to a more intense highlight.

I have very fair skin, but this golden nude shade isn't too dark for my complexion. Because it has that warmth, though, I don't think it would appear ashy on darker skin tones either.

In addition to using it as a face and inner corner highlight, it also works well as a pretty eye shadow for the lid. I also like to tap a small amount of it on the center of my lips after I've applied my lipstick to make them appear a little full.

Basically, this powder does a bunch of stuff really well -- and it only costs $4.49!

I think it would be a pretty good addition to most people's makeup collections.

You can purchase the highlighter at Ulta.

Have you tried the essence Pure Nude Highlighter? What's your favorite highlighter these days?
