Product Review -- Too Faced Funfetti Eyeshadow Collection (and 5 Piece Collection)

I am a sucker for cute packaging and fun, gimmicky makeup products -- I can admit that.

That's why I've had my eye on the Too Faced Funfetti Eyeshadow Collection since it was hinted at this past summer.

The palette is exclusive to HSN, and can be purchased on its own or part of a 5-piece collection that also includes a Love Flushed Blush in Funfetti, a Funfetti Lip Gloss in Mocha Freeze, a Better Than Sex Mascara, and heart-shaped mini kabuki brush.

I purchased the entire set because... of course I did.  And I mean, really, it's a better value than the palette alone, so that's how I justified the purchase.

The palette comes in sturdy cardboard packaging with adorable heart-shaped confetti artwork. Inside, there is a small heart-shaped mirror and 12 eyeshadows.

The shades include: Feelin' Good, a matte ivory; Life's a Party, a shimmery silvery lilac; Sequin, a metallic orchid; Over-Served, a matte mauve-gray; Forever Young, a matte peach; Party Crasher, a cool brown with a satin finish; Funfetti, a metallic pink; Girl Gang, a metallic golden brown; Pop, Fizz, Clink!, a matte cream; After Party, a metallic antique gold; You're So Fancy, a matte light brown; and All Nighter, a charcoal with gold sparkle.

The shadows in this palette are perfectly nice -- they are pigmented enough and blend easily -- but they're not the best Too Faced shadows that I've ever used.

I also like the shade selection quite a bit, but the shadows are all on the muted side so if you want bold, in-your-face eye makeup, this palette isn't really going to deliver that.

I'm not disappointed that I bought this palette, but I don't really see it as a must-have.

The Love Flush Blush in Funfetti comes in a cute pink heart-shaped compact. The blush itself is speckled with shades of peach, pink, lavender, and gold that combine to provide a lovely peachy pink shade.

It also delivers a lovely glow to the cheeks, so I've been kind of obsessed with this blush since I got it.

(It's a real shame that you can't purchase this item on its own, in my opinion.)

The heart-shaped kabuki that comes with the 5 piece set features synthetic bristles that are extremely dense and fairly soft. It's intended to be used with the blush, but I've actually been using it to apply highlighter when I want a more intense glow.

The Funfetti Lip Gloss in Mocha Freeze is a nice pinky brown nude shade that's ideal for everyday. The shade is fairly sheer, as glosses often are, so it's ideal for layering over lipstick -- and it's not sticky.

I think the Better Than Sex Mascara is a nice mascara for volume and length, but it doesn't blow me away (so it's safe to say that I think the name of the product is overstating it just a bit).

If you're thinking of buying the palette all on its own, I'd probably say pass. It's $42, and I think that there are other options at the same price point that are better buys.

As part of the 5 piece kit, though, which retails for $68, I think it's a pretty good buy. The blush is fantastic and the lip gloss is also nice, plus you get a mascara and a cute brush.

I'd actually recommend the set as a gift this holiday season.
