Product Review -- NYX Sculpt & Highlight Face Duo

During the winter months, I start wearing a lot more cream products.

My skin gets extra dry, so cream blushes and highlighters just seem to look better and more natural.

I've tried my hand at cream contouring too, but the NYX Cream Contour & Highlight Palette was a pretty big disappointment.

Still, I decided to give it another try with the NYX Sculpt & Highlight Face Duo, and fortunately, this go-around went much better.

The Sculpt & Highlight Face Duo may actually be more of a liquid than a cream. The product comes in a double-ended tube with one end that features a light highlighter and a one end that features a darker contour.

Each end has a doe-foot applicator, which makes applying the products very easy.

The Sculpt & Highlight comes in 6 different shades based on skin tone. I chose the lightest shade, Ivory/Taupe, for my pale skin.

The Ivory isn't quite light enough for me to highlight all over my face, but I do like to use it under the eyes for subtle brightening. The Taupe is the perfect contour shade for me both in terms of depth and undertone -- there's no orange in it at all; instead, it has a slightly gray undertone.

While the products are more liquidy that the Cream Contour & Highlight Palette, they are still extremely creamy. I usually dot them onto the skin and then use a brush to carefully blend them out.

I don't find that I need to set them with powder, but on days when I really want my makeup to last, I usually will dust a contour powder over the cream contour and a setting powder over the highlight under my eyes.

While the products are both decently pigmented, I find the effect that they give is very natural so if you're new to contouring, I think this would be a good product to try.

All in all, I definitely recommend giving this product a try if you've been wanting to branch out into cream contour and highlighter products.

Have you tried the NYX Sculpt & Highlight Face Duo? What's your favorite contour and/or highlighting product at the moment?
