Product Review -- Milani Brow & Eye Highlighter

I love taking my time when I put on my makeup because it's one of my favorite things to do.

But let's face it -- sometimes, even those of us who love makeup have to rush through the process.

That's when it helps to have some quick, easy products in your arsenal.

The Milani Brow & Eye Highlighter definitely fits the bill.

These double-ended pencils, which you can sharpen, feature a matte and a shimmer side, which means you can use it in a variety of ways.

It's available in 3 shades choices, but I purchased the pencil in shade 2, Matte Cream and Luminous Lift.

As the name implies, the Matte Cream side is a pale creamy skin tone shade. Luminous Lift is a slightly shimmery pinkish shade.

On most days, I use the cream side under my brow as a highlight. If I'm using just cream shadow on my lid, I'll leave it on its own. If I'm using powder shadow all over, I will use the Matte Cream as a base for a powder highlight in a similar shade.

I will sometimes use Luminous Lift as a brow bone highlight, but it mainly serves as my inner corner highlight, which it adds the perfect amount of brightness.

But you can also use either shade all over the eye -- as a base for powder shadows or all by themselves when you're going for a minimal makeup look.

Both sides of the pencil are highly pigmented and creamy, so they glide on and blend out very easily.

You do have to be careful about applying too much, though, because the product will crease if you layer it on too thick. I also recommend wearing a shadow primer underneath it.

All in all, I think this is really convenient product to have in your makeup drawer, particularly when you're in a hurry and want to get ready ASAP.

It retails for approximately $6.99 and is available on the Milani website and anywhere you can buy Milani products.

Have you tried the Milani Brow & Eye Highlighter? What's your favorite way to use it?

  1. I love 2 in 1 products like this one! Especially with eyeliners. The only downside is, that eventually you end up using one more than the other. ^^;

    1. That is definitely true. I think I probably use the matte end of this more often, but it's pretty close between the two. At least, it's pretty inexpensive, so if I wind up having to buy a new one for just one of the shades, I won't feel so bad. ;)
