Review -- The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer

If you've been reading this blog for a while, you probably know I love The Balm like nobody's business.

Whenever they put out a new product or palette, I buy it pretty much as soon as it's available.

A year or so ago, they came out with a new product in the Manizer highlighter line in a peachy shade, I was super excited.

The Mary-Lou Manizer is one of my all-time favorite highlighters, so it was kind of a no-brainer to get the new one.

But I actually showed a little restraint and didn't buy the Cindy-Lou Manizer when it was first introduced.

And that was actually a good thing because I was able to pick it up during one of The Balm's  50% off flash sales on their website.

Normally, it retails for $24 -- which seems like a pretty good deal to me because you get a ton of product that's super pigmented -- but I was able to pick it up for $12.

The Balm calls the Cindy-Lou Manizer a shadow, blush, and highlighter in one -- and the peachy pink shade definitely makes it seriously versatile.

For a fair-skinned girl like me, it doesn't particularly work as a highlighter. If you have darker skin, though, I think it would be absolutely lovely.

The color works well as blush on my pale skin, though it's high on shimmer so I have to blend well or it can look a little too reflective on my cheeks. I actually like to layer a small bit of it along the tops of my cheekbones over a matte peach or peachy pink blush -- it gives just the right amount of glow without looking too metallic.

But my favorite way to use the Cindy-Lou Manizer so far is as a shadow. Peachy shadows are one of my favorites because the warm tones help bring out my blue eyes. The Cindy-Lou Manizer is nice and shimmery too, so it makes a great brightening lid color.

In terms of the formula, it's a nice, smooth, creamy powder that isn't chalky at all. It blends into the skin well and has pretty good staying power too.

You can purchase it at The Balm's website, as well as Nordstrom and Zappos.

Have you tried The Balm's Cindy-Lou Manizer? What's your favorite highlighter?

  1. I think if I´d have to chose one favourite highlighter, then I´d have to say it´s my MAC semi-precious MSF in "pearl". Love it still, but right after that there´s the Mary-Lou (from the Balm Jovi Palette).
I really like the look of Cindy-Lou and I would have tried this on my eyes as well. xD These kind of colours are hard to come by.
