Review -- Too Faced I'll Stop The World and Melt With You Fall 2014 Full Face Collection

The other day, I finally got around to organizing my desk after months of intending to do it.

I seriously will stack file folder after file folder on top of one another until they form a pile so high that every time I bump against the edge of my desk, I'm worried that they're going to topple over.

I'm not the most organized person in the world, that's for sure.

But I was rewarded for finally tiding up because among my mess of folders and junk mail, I found a Sephora gift card that still had a little money on it.

Naturally, I decided that it was a sign that I should treat myself to a little shopping trip -- as if I ever need any convincing.

I didn't just want to load up on more palettes, though, so I decided to look at some of the value kits instead.

And I came across a pretty interesting one, The Too Faced I'll Stop The World and Melt With You Fall 2014 Full Face Collection.

The kit contains five products -- three of which are full-size -- for $59.

That seemed like a pretty good deal to me, so I had to pick it up.

The collection includes:
  • Natural Eye Shadow Quad -- including Mother's Love, Satin Sheets, Unbreakable, & Ever After
  • Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Peach Beach
  • Better Than Sex Mascara
  • Melted Liquified Long-Wear Lipstick in Melted Peony
  • Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer

The eye shadow quad, blush, and mascara are all full-size, while the Melted Lipstick and shadow primer are deluxe samples.

I've wanted to try the Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush and Better Than Sex Mascara for a while now, and they're $30 and $23 respectively so for just $6 more, I got the eye shadow quad and sample sizes of the Melted Lipstick and Shadow Insurance.

The shadows in the quad are lovely -- the formula is exactly like the best of Too Faced's other shadows, so they're pigmented, creamy and easy to blend. Mother's Love is a satin-y lilac, Satin Sheets (a repeat from the Naked Eye Shadow Collection) is a shimmery pale pink, Unbreakable is a matte taupe-y gray, and Ever After (a repeat from the Romantic Eye Shadow Collection) is a shimmery muted plummy brown.

I absolutely love this quad -- I like to use Satin Sheets on the inner corner and brow bone, Mother's Love on the lid, Unbreakable through the crease, and Ever After in the outer corner and along the lash line for a soft, smoky look.

The Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush is one of those blushes that features several different shades. When you swirl your brush through them, though, you get a gorgeous peachy shade with Peach Beach.

It looks pretty glittery in the pan, but I find that the glitter looks much more toned down when it's applied.

And I have to mention the packaging -- it comes in an adorable heart-shaped box with gold embossed details. It's the kind of thing that you'll want to leave out on your vanity for sure.

I've heard lots of good things about the Better Than Sex Mascara, but after using it for a couple of weeks, I'm kind of on the fence.

It's a pretty wet formula, which I'm not really a fan of -- I find that it smears easily when you apply it and my lashes can get pretty clumpy so I have to comb through them after I apply it.

But it does make my lashes look super long and full -- I just have to work with the mascara a little more than I'd like to get those results. I'm hoping that once it dries out a little, it'll be a more user-friendly.

The Melted Liquified Long-Wear Lipstick is another product that I've heard quite a few raves about.  The shade, Melted Peony, is a nice wearable pink shade, but I'm not really crazy about the formula. It feels pretty dry to me, and I feel like it accentuates every line or crack in my lips.

I'm not really a fan of the sponge tip applicator either -- I feel like it doesn't offer enough control for a product like this.

I'll use this lipstick up, but I don't really have any desire to buy a full size when I'm done. (Especially because you can get a similar look with the L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint for a fraction of the cost. Keep an eye out for a review of these in the coming weeks.)

Too Faced Shadow Insurance is one of my absolute favorite shadow primers -- it keeps my shadow in place all day without any creasing and doesn't dry out my eye lids -- so a nice little travel size one is always a welcome addition to my makeup bag.

All in all, I think that this kit is a great value -- it's an excellent way to try out a bunch of interesting products from Too Faced without having to pay full price.

You can purchase the kit at Sephora.

Have you tried the Too Faced I'll Stop The World and Melt With You Collection? What's your favorite product in the kit?

    1. Lol I know -- I'm going to be seriously disappointed in the future when I'm cleaning/organizing and I don't come across unused gift cards. :P
