Product Alert -- Upcoming bareMinerals Candlelight Glow TSV from QVC

I've been trying to cut back on the beauty TSVs that I purchase from QVC.

That's because I almost always wind up purchasing them on the auto-delivery plan, which means there's another two or three kits coming in the future so the makeup can really start piling up.

And you know me -- I don't really need any help accumulating the beauty products.

But at the holidays, the beauty TSVs from QVC are just always so tempting and I couldn't resist the bareMinerals Candlelight Glow 8-Piece Holiday Collection.

The TSV will be available on November 24th for $49.98 plus s&h, but I ordered early and just got my kit so I thought I'd give a rundown in case anyone is trying to decide whether to purchase this one or not.

The kit contains:

  • Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner in Sure Sable
  • Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Dim The Lights
  • Candlelight Glow Illuminator in Luminous Gold
  • Sweet Romance Blush
  • Morning Glow Eyecolor
  • Nightfall Eyecolor
  • Soft Glow Face Brush
  • Double-Ended Plush Brush & Shadow Brush
  • Glamorous Evening Bag

The products in the kit all feature gold packaging or lids so they look a little fancier than the usual bareMinerals' stuff.

As much as I love bareMinerals' Ready pressed shadows -- and they are definitely one of my favorite shadow formulas all-time -- part of the reason I was so attracted to this kit is that it includes their old school loose mineral shadows. I haven't purchase any of those in a while, and I think they're a fun and versatile product to have around.

But let's get onto the individual products:

I feel like bareMinerals is always coming up with new eyeliner formulas. I mean, I'd just gotten used to the Round The Clock liners, and now they've already moved onto the the Lasting Line Long-Wearing Liners

I haven't really put this to the test yet -- I only wore it for a few hours so I'm not sure how long-wearing it actually is. But it's soft and creamy, which makes it pretty easy to apply. It's a twist-up pencil, though there's a little sharpener in the other end to keep the tip nice and precise.

I like the shade quite a bit too because it's a true brown so it has a softer look than black and black-brown liners.

I love the Marvelous Moxie Lipsticks -- they're not super moisturizing, but they're not drying either and they last quite a while on the lips.

Dim The Lights is a pinky brown nudish shade that I think would flatter a variety of skin tones.

Candlelight Glow Illuminator in Luminous Gold

I was surprised by the Candlelight Glow Illuminator -- that's because I didn't do a very good job reading the product description and didn't realize it was a cream product. But it was a pleasant surprise because I've been in the market for cream highlighter.

The cool thing about this one, though, is that while it applies as a cream, it dries to a powdery finish so it stays in place. It's a pale gold color that works pretty well with my fair skin.

The compact that the Illuminator comes in is pretty bulky, but that's not a deal breaker for me.

Sweet Romance Blush

I've always liked bareMinerals loose blushes, and Sweet Romance is a particularly pretty warm rosy shade. It doesn't have any shimmer or glitter, but it definitely has a satin finish on the skin.

Morning Glow and Nightfall Eyecolors

Morning Glow is a shimmery ivory shade with slight golden undertones. It is particularly pretty in the inner corner or on the lid to help brighten up the eyes.

Nightfall is a shimmery cocoa shade with subtle golden shimmer. I actually wore this the other for a simple, one shadow smoky eye -- I packed it on the lid and then blended it out into the crease. It was super quick and easy and looked really pretty.

Soft Glow Face Brush and Double-Ended Plush Blush & Shadow Brush

Soft Glow Face Brush (bottom) & Double-Ended Plush Blush & Shadow Brush (top)
This is a synthetic brush that is meant to be used with the Candlelight Glow Illuminator. I haven't tried it yet because I've just been using my fingers with the Illuminator, but it feels nice and soft, though maybe a little large depending on what areas of the face you're highlighting.

I'm not a fan of double-ended brushes because of the whole storage issue, but I do use them when I'm traveling to cut back on how many brushes I have to take. As a result, I haven't tried the Double-Ended Plush Blush & Shadow Brush yet either. Both ends feel pretty soft, though.

Glamorous Evening Bag

Glamorous Evening Bag
They often claim that the bags in these kinds of kits can be used as an evening clutch, but they're usually too flimsy and small for that. This one is pretty large and definitely sturdy enough to use for an evening out. I'm not a fan of the color gold myself, but I think it's a pretty nice bag so I may pass it onto someone I know will use it.

For $49.98, this is a pretty great deal. The colors are pretty universal too, so I think the shades would work for a variety of skin tones, hair colors, etc.

You can purchase the kit on November 24th or get it early like I did.  It's also available on auto-delivery if you want to get three additional kits in the future.

Are you thinking about purchasing the bareMinerals Candlelight Glow Collection? Which product intrigues you the most?

    1. QVC doesn't seem to be selling the kit. I see that there's one on ebay, though , if you're interested. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bare-Minerals-CHANDELIGHT-GLOW-REKINDLED-Collection-Vol-2-New-8-pc-QVC-AD-/111668585699?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19fff764e3) The price is marked up, but the first kit is going for $61 on QVC so it's not completely outrageous. Hope that helps!
