Review -- Benefit Rockateur Blush

I wanted Benefit's Rockateur Blush from pretty much the moment it was introduced two or so years ago.

But it's $28 and the blush drawers in my makeup collection have been overflowing for a while now, so I told myself that I couldn't justify the purchase.

And unlike so many times in the past when I didn't listen to my own advice, I actually held fast and didn't buy it, even though I wanted it desperately.

But then a couple of months ago, I found myself in the Benefit section at Sephora and that damn little box just screamed my name. And honestly, I kind of felt like I'd earned it because I'd waited so long to get it and I'd actually gotten rid of several powder blushes in my collections.

So I bought it.
And boy, am I glad I did.

I've been wearing it almost non-stop since I bought it.

I know this blush is old news by now, but I felt like I had to do a review because it's such a gorgeous color.

Benefit describes the shade as rose gold, and I think that's an accurate description. It's a soft rose shade with warm golden undertones. Like all of Benefit's boxed powders, it has a silky texture that blends easily into the skin and is nicely pigmented.

What I like best about it – besides the beautiful color – is that it imparts a pretty glow to the skin without being overly sparkly or shimmery. Instead, it gives the cheeks a sheen that looks very natural so you don’t have to worry about it accentuating pores or fine lines and wrinkles.

I absolutely love it.

I know $28 is a lot for a blush, but if you’re ever looking to treat yourself, this is definitely one worth splurging on.

You can find it at Benefit's website, Sephora, Ulta, and anywhere else you can find Benefit products.

Have you tried Benefit’s Rockateur? Are you a fan? Which of Benefit’s boxed powders is your favorite?

    1. It really is stunning to look at -- but the good news is, it's just as pretty on the cheeks. ;)

  2. Well cudos for staying strong for such a long time! If you do it like that you really know that you want something badly and you´re not just caught in a hype that sweeps over the blogs worldwide for a short period. :D
I don´t have much experience when it comes to Benefit blushes - the only one I have is Coralista and I have to admit that to me that one is not worth the hype. Still I had to see for myself so I don´t really regret it.

    1. Yeah, I like Coralista fine but I'm not wowed by it. (Don't think I'm weird, but I do love the smell of it. Sometimes, when I'm choosing a blush, I'll take it out just to sniff it. lol) My favorite Benefit blush before Rockateur was Hervana because it's a nice cool toned pinky shade that isn't like every other blush I own. But even though Rockateur isn't as original, I like it better because of the pretty glow it gives the cheeks.

I did just buy Benefit's Dallas, which I haven't had a chance to play with yet and I'm not entirely sure is supposed to be a blush or a bronzer, but I will update once I've given it a try. :)

    2. Wow sounds like you already have quite a nice collection there. ^^
Dallas looks like it´s a perfect everyday blush. Maybe you could show them all together sometime? :)
