Review -- City Color Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon and Pink Grapefruit

This blog is a testament to the fact that I am pretty much obsessed with all things makeup and beauty-related.

And because I'm so obsessed, I tend to think that I know every brand that's in existence.

But some do manage to slip through the cracks.

Several months back, I received a product from City Color Cosmetics in my ipsy bag

I'd never heard of the brand so I really had no expectations for the item, the Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon, so imagine my surprise when I tried it and realized that it was pretty amazing.

That prompted me to go to City Color Cosmetics' website, where I was even more surprised to discover how affordable the brand's products actually are -- the blush in question is only $2.99 -- which lead me to order a ton of things to try out, including another of the Be Matte Blushes in Pink Grapefruit.

Fresh Melon is a lovely light to mid-tone coral, while Pink Grapefruit is a light bright pink shade. As the name implies, both blushes are entirely matte. They are richly pigmented, but extremely soft and creamy so they blend easily into the skin for a natural look.

If you have extremely fair skin, though, you might find it best to apply these with a duo fiber blush to ensure that the color isn't too dark or intense.

The Be Matte Blushes come in 6 other colors, so there's likely an option to match any skin tone or shade preference -- and they're less than $3 each so you can probably pick up more than one.

I'll definitely be getting a few more -- I already have my eye on Blackberry and Guava.

As I mentioned, I purchased a bunch of other products from City Color Cosmetics so you can expect some other reviews in the coming weeks. I find that the brand is similar to e.l.f. in that while there are some really serious hits, there are some misses as well -- but because the products are so reasonably priced, you can have fun trying out new items without breaking the bank.

Have you tried the City Color Be Matte Blushes? Which is your favorite shade? Have you tried other items from the line?
