Review -- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils in Naked and Naked 2

I'm not really a lip liner girl.

Partly because I'm lazy and it's just a step in my makeup routine that seems unnecessary since I don't really have a problem with lipstick or gloss bleeding or moving outside my lips.

(Of course, the one exception is when I wear red lipstick.  But that's not that often.)

And partly because I just don't care for the way most lip liners that I've tried feel -- they always seem dry and drag along my lips when I try to apply them.

They're just not for me.

Still, I decided to give Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils a try because I'm a big fan of the brand and I like that they have shades that match all of their new Revolution Lipsticks -- which is kind of an odd thing for me to say because usually when I buy a lip liner, I choose a shade that's close to my natural lip color so I can use it with any lipstick or gloss in my collection.

And that's actually what I did with the UD 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils - I picked up Naked and Naked2.

Both shades are very similar to my lip color.  Naked is darker and slightly pinker, while Naked2 is darker and slightly more brown than my natural lips. I'll be able to use these with a pretty much every lip color in my collection, and while the shades are similar, they're different enough that having both of them makes sense (to me anyway).

The formula is the real standout with these pencils, though.

They are creamy and smooth, so they don't skip or drag at all when you apply them. That means you can get a nice clean line around your lips -- which isn't so important when you're using shades like Naked and Naked2 that match your natural lips but you'll definitely appreciate if you pick up a red, hot pink, or other bright shade.

While they're definitely not moisturizing, they are not drying either so they are actually comfortable enough to wear all on their own if you want. I like wearing them under lipsticks, but they're also quite nice under a sheer gloss too.

My favorite lip liner is probably still the Smashbox Nude Lip Liner in Fair, but these are definitely a close second.

The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils are $19 each and come in 16 shades.

If you're not a fan of drying, difficult to apply lip liners, I would definitely recommend giving these a try.  Yeah, they're a little pricey but the quality makes them worth it in my opinion.

(I am on the hunt for a drugstore lip liner that I like, though, so I'll let you know if I find any cheaper alternatives.)

Have you tried the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils?  Are you a lip liner fan in general?

    1. I have become totally obsessed with nude lipsticks over the past year -- I must have a hundred of them by now. ;)

And the Naked Collection really is a winner. Well, except the Naked Skin Beauty Balm; that one was a a disappointment.
