Review -- Pacifica Enlighten Eye Brightening Shadow Palette

I always get in trouble when I go to Target.

I head inside to pick up some basic necessities like Diet Coke, treats for Brownie, or toothpaste and come out with $100 worth of stuff that I didn't intend to buy.

And it's not just beauty stuff that I fall prey to -- I've come home with clothes, shoes, lamps, throw rugs, etc.

You name it, I've probably bought it on impulse at Target at one point or another.

Most recently, it was an eye shadow palette from Pacifica that somehow found its way into my cart.

I didn't even know that Pacifica made makeup -- I thought they were just a bath and body products company -- so that's what piqued my interest.

Oh, and the shades in the palette were totally calling my name too.

And I have to say I'm really pleasantly surprised by the Enlighten Eye Brightening Shadow Palette.

The packaging refers to the shadows as coconut infused mineral eye shadows and the first ingredient is actually coconut water, which is kind of cool.  The shadows are 100% vegan and cruelty-free, and are free of sulfates, parabens, phthaltes, petroleum and SLS, so if you like natural products, this may be something you want to check out.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the palette even goes to support clean water, which is definitely a good thing.

But none of that really matters if the shadows aren't any good, right?

Well, rest assured, these shadows are very nice indeed.

The palette contains four shadows: Skinny Dip, a cream shade with a satin-y finish; Coral Sand, a peachy shade with a satin-y finish; Golden, a shimmery gold; and Urchin, a deep plum with a satin-y finish.

The shadows are nicely pigmented and easy to apply and blend. With an eye shadow primer underneath, I find that they last all day, which usually means about 10 to 12 hours.

I love the combination of colors, too.

While I've worn them a  ton this summer, I also think they can transition well for fall.  Coral Sand is predictably my favorite color in the palette -- it may actually be my favorite peach eye shadow of all time.

I am  that obsessed with it.

Usually I wear it on the lid, with Golden through the crease, Urchin in the outer V, and Skinny Dip under the brow and in the inner corner.

It's just such a pretty, soft look that is absolutely lovely with blue eyes. Honestly, though, I think it would work for any eye color. The shadows are mean to brighten the eye, and I really think they do the job without being super shimmery or glittery.

The palette is made of cardboard packaging with a thin plastic window on the front that allows you to see the shadows inside, but it's plenty sturdy so I think it would travel just fine.

Pacifica scores extra points for packaging that offers up compliments.

Apparently, there is a second palette in the line, the Mystical Supernatural Eye Shadow Palette, but I didn't see at my local Target.

I paid $14 for the Enlighten Eye Brightening Shadow Palette.  If you're interested in it but can't find it at your Target or don't have a Target nearby, it's also available on the Pacifica website.

I have gotten a ton of use out of this palette and am always struck by how pretty the shadows look on the eye.  I'd definitely recommend checking it out, particularly if you are interested in natural, cruelty-free products.

Have you tried the Pacific Enlighten Eye Brightening Shadow Palette or the Mystical Supernatural Eye Shadow Palette? Are you a fan?
