BE Feel the Love AD #2 (and Small M.A.C. Product Alert)

The bareMinerals Feel the Love TSV, which was originally available back in April, is certainly not the most exciting BE kit that I've ever purchased from QVC, but it has all of the basics necessary to do a complete face.

Today, my UPS guy brought me the second installment of the auto-delivery series, and I'm pretty happy with the new shades in the collection.  They may not be for everyone, though, so if you've delayed your shipment, you should definitely check out photos and swatches to see if they're up your alley.

Like the original kit, this installment contains three face products:
  • Ready Foundation Broad Spectrum in Fair
  • Bisque Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF20
  • Stroke of Light Eye Brightener in Luminous1
bareMinerals Ready Foudnation, Bisque Concealer, and Stroke of Light Brightner
I enjoy all of these products (though there definitely is a learning curve with the Ready Foundation), but I haven't gone through the products from the first kit so I'll be passing these on to good homes.

Except the Stroke of Light.  I'm almost done with my first tube, so I'm holding onto this one as a backup.

The brushes in this kit are more of the 2-in-1 double ended style that are so easy to store.  There is a 2-in-1 Angled Face & Concealer Brush and a 2-in-1 Blush & Eye Defining Brush. The bristles appear to be synthetic and are super soft, so I think these will get plenty of use, particularly when traveling.

The Ready Blush in The Slow Dance and Ready Luminizer in The True Romance is a split pan product that's also nice and compact for traveling.

The Slow Dance is a warm coral color, while The True Romance is a shimmery golden peach.

I love both colors because they're both right up alley. My skin is pretty much neutral, with ever-so-slight pink undertones, and I really like the way it looks on me. However, I think that these colors might be difficult to wear if you have very cool toned skin. If you're warm toned, though, this is a beautiful blush and luminizer duo, for sure.

The Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in the kit is in the shade Smarty Pants.

Smarty Pants is a sheer peach shade with golden micro-glitter sprinkled throughout.

Because it's sheer, it's best layered over a lipstick or lip liner. As the queen of peachy lip products, this is a perfect addition to my collection. However, the shade isn't particularly unique so if you already have a sheer peachy gloss that you like, you may not need this one.

I am definitely happy with this kit, but I don't think that it's quite the slam dunk that other AD installments have been.  If you're on the fence, you should definitely check out as many photos and swatches as possible.

Now, here's a little product alert for a lipstick in M.A.C.'s new Indulge collection -- Smash Hit.

M.A.C. Lipstick in Smash Hit

These photos seriously don't do it justice, so you're probably thinking, Jennifer's crazy... what's so special about this?

While I probably am a little crazy, I'm not about this, I swear.

M.A.C describes Smash Hit as sheer golden sparkle.  Now it is sheer and it is sparkly, but there's more than just gold going on here. In the light, it also flashes pink and slight purple tones -- it is really stunning and unlike any other lipstick that I own.

Now, it is sheer so it's not a lipstick that you'd probably wear on its own (though you totally cool, particularly if you have darker skin).  I like it over other lipsticks just in the center of my lips -- it is seriously stunning when it catches the light.  Because it's a glittery color, it doesn't have the smoothest texture but if you can get past that, it really is lovely.

I'm not saying that everyone should run out and buy Smash Hit -- I know it won't be a must-have for all of us -- but I am saying that if you're going to be near a M.A.C. counter or store in the next few days, you should definitely check it out and see for yourself. It's already sold out on the M.A.C. website, but it is still available on Nordstrom.com

What new products are on your radar these days?

  1. Wow! LOVE the luminizer/blush duo! i have the one featuring "the natural high"and "the shining moment" that was a 'gold' themed set from sephora.
are you in canada?i did a quick look through your blog and didn't come up with an answer. really not trying to be a creeper ;) - if you are, was wondering how you swing the QVC shipment (for some reason i thought that you were based in canada) because i SO want to get the shipments as well. 2. I am actually in the states -- near NYC to be exact.:) It stinks that you guys can't get this kits from QVC up in Canada -- they're such good values. I hope that they release the blush/luminizer duo on its own because it such a lovely combo. I am particularly in love with the luminizer -- I've worn it everyday since the kit arrived. ;)
