Tarte What Has Your Makeup Done For Your Lately? A/D Shipment #2

Tarte What Has Your Makeup Done For You Lately? TSV Box
You know that you have a serious QVC addiction when two new installments of a TSV show up on your doorstep on the same day.

And from the same brand no less.

That's what happened to me today - my UPS man dropped off the second installment of the Tarte What Has Your Makeup Done For Your Lately? TSV and the third (and final) shipment of the Tarte Miracle of Maracuja TSV this afternoon.

So yeah.  I know I've got a problem.

I just can't resist these deals.

Seriously.

I was hoping that I'd be able to do posts on both TSVs today, but I ran out of time so you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see the Miracle of Maracuja contents.

Just like the first, the second AD shipment of the What Has Your Makeup Done For You Lately? contains six products: 100% Pure Maracuja Oil Rollerball; Maracuja Miracle 12-Hour Foundation; Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder in Bronze; modernEYES Waterproof Creaseless Shadow/Liner Duo in Golden Beige/Bronze; Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara; and LipSurgence Lip Shine in Wonder.

It also comes in the same pink, purple and lilac decorative box that the first TSV did - and it's a nice sturdy box too.  I use the first one to store extra brushes so it's come in really handy.

The 100% Pure Maracuja Oil Rollerball is pre-makeup treatment - it is supposed to improve skin texture and hydrate the skin.  I switch back and forth between it and the Josie Maran Argan Oil, and I like both equally. They're not miracle workers, but I will say that in the year or so that I've been using them, my skin has been the most clear, even and smooth that it's ever been.  The rollerball container is much more convenient than the larger medicine dropper style bottle, especially for travel.

I am a big fan of the Maracuja Miracle 12-Hour Foundation. Like the Amazonian Clay Foundation, it provides full coverage but it agrees with my normal to dry skin much better than the Amazonian Clay.  It also has a lovely dewy finish that gives the skin a beautiful glow.

Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundation in Fair
My one complaint with the foundation is that the Fair shade isn't as good a match for my skin tone as the Amazonian Clay Foundation.  It's slightly darker and more orange in tone.  Still, once it's blended into the skin and topped with a pink toned powder, it works just fine.

The first What Has Your Makeup Done For You Lately? kit came with a foundation brush.  Instead of another brush, this installment contains the Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder  in Bronze.

I have a deluxe sample of the original colorless Smooth Operator Finishing Powder - it's a standard silica based powder that is nice and lightweight and helps give the skin a flawless finish.  This one is tinted with a pretty natural bronze shade, which, while not terribly dark, is a little too deep for me to use all over as a finishing powder.  If you have darker skin, I think it would make a nice all over face powder.

However, I think I could contour with it or use it on the high points of my face for a subtle sunkissed glow.  I'm looking forward to playing with it.

I am perhaps most excited about the modernEYES Waterproof Creaseless Shadow/Liner Duo in Golden Beige/Bronze. The product features a cream shadow stick on one end and a traditional eye liner on the other.

Having used the Shadow/Liner Duo from the first kit quite a bit, I can say that the formula here is great - the cream shadow is smooth and easy to blend but it wears like iron (I wear a primer underneath all of my cream shadows).  I do typically top it with a powdered shadow but it works well on its own too.

The liner is pretty basic, but it doesn't smudge or run and lasts a good while.

I am in love with the shades in this kit - the Golden Beige cream shadow is a lovely golden taupe shade, while the Bronze liner is a warm rich brown.  A lovely combination.

The Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara is another winning product from Tarte.  As much as I love their Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara, this one is definitely closing in on it in terms of my favorite mascaras. The Gifted Mascara is both lengthening and volumizing, and as someone who has pretty puny lashes, I'll take all the help I can get.

My other favorite product in the kit is the LipSurgence Lip Shine in Wonder. It's slightly different from the other products in the LipSurgence line in that the pencil is longer and thinner.  It doesn't twist up like the Matte Lip Tints, Lip Tints or Lip Lusters either - instead, it feature a built-in sharpener in the cap.

The finish on these is definitely shinier too.

Wonder is a particularly lovely, wearable shade. Tarte describes it as a pinkish nude, and I'd say that's pretty accurate. It is a neutral color so I feel like it would work on a wide range of skin tones. I can easily see this becoming one of my go-to lip colors for every day.

All in all, this looks like another winning kit from Tarte.  I can't wait to play around with the products a bit more.

Did you get this second installment of the Tarte TSV?  What are your favorite products so far?
