Tarte Fantastic Foursome Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Enthusiast Set

Tarte Holiday Blush Set

One of the things that I love best about the holidays - and I love so many, many things, it would be impossible to list them all - is the value sets that so many cosmetics companies put out.

Not only do they make great gifts, they're a great way to try new products or stock up on old favorites that you know you love.

This year, instead of just putting out the standard lip gloss and eyeliner sets, Tarte realized that their Amazonian clay blushes are some of their most popular products and put out a fun set of four of the blushes -  the Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Enthusiast Set ($35).

As a big fan of the Tarte blushes, I can safely say this set is a winner.

The quality of the blushes in this value set is just as good as the standalone blushes - which is to say highly pigmented, easy to blend and super long wearing.

To be clear, the blushes in this set are not full size.

A full size Amazonian clay blush contains 5.6 grams of product while the blushes in the set have 3.03 grams, making them a little larger than half the size.

Now, since they are four blushes in this kit, you're getting two full size blushes worth of product for $35 - a single blush costs $25.

That's a pretty great deal, right?

The shades in the set are exclusive, so you don't have to worry about getting duplicates if you already own full size Tarte blushes.  You get Fantastic, a matte fuchsia; Magic, a matte coral with pink undertones; Angelic, a shimmery golden champagne (works as a highlighter); and Stellar, a shimmering bronzey nude.

If you already own the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, Stellar may seem fairly similar.  They do look pretty close in the pan, though Exposed is matte and Stellar has gold shimmer throughout.

However, when swatched, you can see that the two shades are actually different.  While they're both bronzey shades, Exposed has rosy undertones while Stellar leans more toward the orange end of the spectrum.

They both provide a nice, natural look on the cheeks, though.

If you're fair like me and worried about Stellar looking too orange-y on your cheeks, I recommend pairing it with a rosy or pink blush.  Swipe the Stellar up over your cheek bones and add a dab of your favorite pink blush just to the apples of your cheeks - that really seems to create a natural, sun kissed look.

All in all, this set is pretty terrific.

If you've always wanted to try the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushes, this is a great, budget-friendly way to do so.  If you have a bunch of the blushes already, it's still a great option because the shades are all new.

You really can't go wrong.

The last time I checked the set was sold out on Sephora's website, but you can still get it on Tarte's.

Have you tried the Amazonian Clay Blushes?  What's your favorite shade?

  1. I love the Amazonian Clay blushes. This set was on my wishlist, but I wasn't able to get my hands on it. I really don't need it. My favorite is probably Dollface with Exposed and Natural Beauty close behind.

    1. I don't have Dollface or Natural Beauty, though I've always wanted both. I can't see to buy single items anymore - I'm always looking for a value set or kit to get more bang for my buck. I'm a sucker for all of these holiday sets - much to my bank account's dismay. :P

    1. It really is a great set. I did intend to put it on my Christmas list, but I decided to buy it as a gift for a friend and couldn't resist getting one for myself too. That's the problem with holiday shopping - I love buying gifts for others, but I always wind up treating myself at the same time. I wind up buying so much stuff in November and December that it's kind of crazy. LOL
