Product 411 -- New(ish) ColourPop Releases

I've been such a slacker lately that I've got a pile of products to review that's about waist-high at this point. In particular, I've got a ton of ColourPop stuff that I've bought over the past few months and haven't gotten around to writing about yet.

(Because seriously, they seem to put out a new collection every single week -- in fact, at the time I'm writing this, they're releasing a new collection tomorrow or the day after, and I know I'll probably buy some stuff from it... I just can't help myself.)

To get through my backlog a little more quickly, I figured I'd do an overview of all of these new-ish ColourPop items in one post. I also don't feel like there's a need to do an in-depth review of the items because the quality and formula is pretty consistent across the board and I've already reviewed most ColourPop product categories, so it just seems redundant.

So here's just a general rundown with some swatches. I'll be sure to point out my favorites, though.

The Kathleen Lights x ColourPop Zodiac Collection

I always enjoy Kathleen's videos on YouTube, so I'd have likely picked something up just to support her, but I did really enjoy a lot of the colors going on in this collection.

My favorite item is definitely the Kathleen Lights x ColourPop The Zodiac Shadow Palette because shadow palettes are always my favorite but I also because I love the combination of neutrals and pops of color. It's an ideal palette for everyone, but especially if you want to step a little outside of your comfort zone and dip your toe into playing with color.

It retails for $18 and features a mirror -- and some lovely packaging too.

I also picked up one of the Supernova Liquid Shadows from the collection in Constellation. I actually don't think I've done a proper review on the Supernova shadows, but I enjoy the formula, and this is a nice kind of champagne shade with a hint of pink that is ideal for everyday wear.

It retails for $7.

The Creme Lux Lipstick in What's Your Sign? obviously feels great on the lips, though I was slightly disappointed in the shade. It's described as a neutral nude, but it reads pretty warm and peachy on my lips. (I feel like all nude lipsticks these days are warm and all I want is a true neutral or even a cooler nude.)

But if that's what you're in the market for, this is a great formula and only costs $7.

I also grabbed the Super Shock Highlighter in On the CuspI was a bit concerned that it might be too dark for my very fair skin, but the golden champagne shade actually looks quite nice. If your skin is darker, though, I think you could easily build it up for a more intense look.

It retails for $8.

The Sol and Mar Shadow Palettes

To show you how far behind I am with ColourPop's releases, I believe these were part of their summer product line. Yikes!

These palettes are different from the usual ColourPop palettes because they come in a hard plastic compact rather than cardboard. There's a mirror inside too, which makes them ideal for travel.

They retail for $12.

The Sol Palette offers a gorgeous array of warm orange, bronze, and peach tones. I love those tones because they bring out my blue eyes big time, but if you're not a fan of warm shadows -- or have just overdosed on them since 9 out of 10 palettes in recent years tend to be overwhelmingly warm -- this is one you can pass on.

The Mar Palette, on the other hand, combines some warm bronze and brown tones with a few pops of cool blue and turquoise. I probably don't use this one as often as The Sol Palette because blue and teal shades are harder for me to wear, but I think it's definitely more unique.

I also picked up one of the Ultra Blotted Lips that came out at the same time as these palettes. I'd never tried the formula before but was intrigued, so I went with Soda Pop, which is sort of rosy plum shade.

The formula is interesting -- it's matte, but not as full-coverage as ColourPop's usual liquid lipsticks. I might describe it more as a soft stain, actually. It stays in place, though, and doesn't feel drying.

The Ultra Blotted Lips retail for $6.

Ooh La La! Palette
The Ooh La La! Palette is a pink shadow lover's dream. Like the Sol and Mar Palettes, it comes in a hard plastic compact with a mirror inside and holds nine shadows that are all variations on the pink theme. Some of them are pretty bright, so I need to use a light hand on my fair skin, but I really love pink shadow looks so this is a fave for sure.

In particular, I can't get over how pretty Ticked is -- it's a kind of pale opalescent pink with violet and blue tones -- and how lovely Soft Core, a matte warm pink, works as a transition shade.

The palette retails for $12.

Fall Edit Collection
I seem to love most of the collections that ColourPop puts out (which is why I buy from all of them, even though there's a new one every damn week), but the Fall Edit may be one of my favorites this year.

I purchased two of the Matte Lux Lipsticks: Electric Feel, which is a pale peachy pink, and Pencil Me In, which is a rich reddish berry. I love the lipstick formula, and both shades are nice, but Pencil Me In is the standout for me -- a perfect shade for fall and winter.

They cost $7 each.

I also grabbed one of the Supernova Shadows in LOML, which is a reddish plum. Again, it's perfect for fall -- I like to wear it all on its own on the lid with just some matte neutral-ish shade in the crease to blend out the edges.

It retails for $7.

The Crush on You Highlighter Palette actually features the Super Shock Cheek formula rather than a pressed highlighter. It features four shades, which are all lovely and versatile -- but not particularly original, so you may not need this one in your collection if you already have a lot of highlighters.

If you haven't tried the Super Shock Cheek formula, though, the palette is a good way to try four shades at once.

It retails for $18.

The star of the collection in my mind, though is the Good Sport Pressed Powder Shadow Palette.  It contains 12 shadows, which include some warm neutrals and bright jewel tones.
I especially love Rookie, a burnt orange with blue glitter; Trooper, a matte golden yellow; Hooked, a mossy green; and Ebb, a metallic olive. Sista, a matte violet, is stunning too.

It retails for $16.

Karrueche x ColourPop Brown Sugar Collection
If you like brown tones in your makeup, then the ColourPop's Brown Sugar Collection was made for you.

I picked up two of the Creme Lux Lipsticks: Butter, a pale peachy nude, and Brick, a plummy brown. They're both nice shades, but Brick is a little more unique, so it's my favorite.

They're $7 each.

I also got one of the Ultra Glossy Lips in Blowzy, which is a sheer rose with gold shimmer. It works with a lot of lip colors, but I particularly like wearing it over Brick.

It's just $6.

The Creme Gel Colours are meant to be used as eyeliners, and they work great for that, but I actually like using them as cream shadows because they don't budge at all. So I grabbed the lightest shade from the collection, Nut, which is a soft metallic copper, and I absolutely love it as both a cream shadow for the lid and an eyeliner.

It retails for $6.

And finally -- because I need another shadow palette like I need a hole in my head -- there's the Brown Sugar Pressed Powder Palette, which is another stunner. It contains a combination of warm and cool neutrals, so it's a little different than the usual warm palettes out there these days. It also features more mattes than metallic or shimmer shades, which is a nice change too. I particularly love Saute, which is one of those cool brown duochrome shades with green and gold undertones.

The palette retails for $12.

I also purchased some items from the ColourPop collab with Disney but didn't bother to take any photos because they were all sold out almost immediately and I didn't think they would be restocked. But it looks like they have, so let me just say that the It's a Princess Thing Shadow Palette ($20) and the Creme Lux Lipstick in Belle are my two favorite items from the collection.

What recent-ish ColourPop products have you tried? Which ones are your favorite?
