Product Alert -- LORAC Romantic Eyes Collection

Between the holidays and my birthday, I've had a couple of Ulta gift cards burning a hole in my pocket.

Now, I definitely had a few items in mind as must-haves, but I also spent a little time exploring the Ulta website for hidden gems and stumbled upon the LORAC Romantic Eyes Collection.

I'm not going to do a full review because I've only used the kit a couple of times, but the set is an Ulta exclusive and limited edition so I thought I would give a quick rundown in case anyone might be interested.

The collection contains three items:
  • Limited Edition Romantic Eyes Eye Shadow Palette
  • Mini Cobra Mascara
  • Front of the Line PRO Eye Pencil in Black
LORAC Romantic Eyes Collection contents
I haven't tried the Mini Cobra Mascara yet because I already have a few mascaras open at the moment, but the formula is meant to lengthening, volumizing, and curling, which sounds pretty great. The mini size contains .14 oz and a full size has .25 oz, so it's larger than half size.

The Front of the Line PRO Eye Pencil is full size and is a retractable style liner. The formula is creamy but not overly so, which means it stays in place pretty well.

The shade in the kit is black, which is obviously a classic option -- but every brand always seems to make the liners in these kits black. In this kit, it might have been nice if they'd made the liner a dark purple or even navy.

(Sure, I have liners in those shades too, but not 50 of them, as I seem to with black liners.)

The star of the kit is the Romantic Eyes Eye Shadow Palette, and honestly, I purchased the kit pretty much for one shade -- the shimmery purple-y pink.

It pretty much screamed to me.

But you get seven shadows in all: a shimmery white, a matte cream, a satin peachy beige, a shimmery peachy pink, the shimmery purple-y pink, a satin taupe, and a matte navy.

It's an interesting color combination for sure, but it creates a really pretty look on the eyes -- and the purple-y pink is just as lovely as I hoped. I like to use a fluffy duo-fiber crease brush to softly blend it along the edge of the taupe shade in the crease to add a little extra oomph to my eyes.

I've also used the shimmery white and peachy beige as face highlights, so it's a pretty versatile palette.

The entire kit retails for $35 at Ulta, which I think is a pretty great deal.

All in all, I definitely this set is worth checking out if you're a fan of LORAC shadows.

Have you tried the LORAC Romantic Eyes Collection? What's your favorite look to do with the palette?

  1. First off: a late happy birthday to you!! :D

I can totally relate to the burning gift cards - they never survive for too long in my purse either. I´m also a bit afraid of forgetting them and them becoming void.

The set you chose is really pretty - I´d have gotten that too if I were you. Especially since sets with mini mascaras are always hard to resist for me.

  2. Thank you! :D

I usually tend to use a gift card within 48 hours of getting it. The only exception is that if I know a sale is coming up and I want to get the most bang for my buck... but even then, I'm dying to use the gift card as soon as possible. ;)

    1. Same here!! Although I´m always waiting out for the maximum of deluxe samples since there really isn´t a big sale in any of the bigger make-up selling shops.
