Product Review -- COVERGIRL truBlend Face Primer for Dry Skin

I haven't had too much trouble finding a primer that works with my dry skin.

I'm a big fan of  the IT Cosmetics' Feel the Moment Primer Serum, Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil, and Hourglass No. 28 Primer, all of which features oils that really hydrate and smooth the skin, so it's ready for foundation application.

But while I love those primers, they're all pretty pricey, so I've long been on the hunt for a more budget-friendly option that would still work with my dry skin.

Fortunately, COVERGIRL has introduced a series of primers in their truBlend line that are targeted for specific skin types, including oily, dry, and combination -- so I was really excited to try the truBlend Face Primer for Dry Skin.

Product Review -- NARS NARSissist L'amour Toujours L'amour Eyeshadow Palette

There's part of me that thinks that you really shouldn't consider the price when you're evaluating a product.

I mean, a lipstick is either dry and uncomfortable, or it isn't. An eyeshadow is either pigmented and smooth, or it isn't.

Whether I paid $6 or $60, it should still perform to my expectations.

But then there's the other part of me that says price really does matter.

Because presumably, when you're ponying up big bucks for makeup, it should boast better ingredients and performance -- standards should be higher for $25 lipstick than a $8 one.

As my sister always says, you get what you pay for (or you should anyway).

So it's hard for me not to consider the $59 price tag on the NARS NARSissist L'amour Toujours L'amour Eyeshadow Palette when I sit down to review it.

Product Review -- BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme

In general, I'm not really a fan of full coverage foundations.

While I have quite a few little imperfections that I like my face products to hide, I find that even on my worst skin days, a medium coverage product plus a concealer is all I need to get the job done.

And in my experience, full coverage foundations look and feel way too heavy on my skin for me to be all that comfortable to wear.

Still, I'm one of those people who feels like it's good to be prepared for any and all situations -- there might be a day when my medium coverage foundations just don't cut it, so I like the idea of having a reliable full coverage product that I can bust out in emergencies.

So I'd been curious about the BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme ever since it came out.

Product Review -- NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette

There are few things that I love as much as a good highlight.

(Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration ... because I'm pretty sure I love a good eye shadow palette, foundation, blush, lipstick, etc., just as much)

And I've got an entire drawer full of them to prove it.

But I don't have many palettes that are devoted exclusively to highlighters.

So I was pretty excited to try the NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette.

The kit comes in a black plastic packaging, and contains seven shimmery highlighter shades, four of which are 0.07 oz each and three of which are .14 oz.
