March 2013 Favorites
In a lot of ways, March felt like a really long month.
I went to Vegas, came home sick, had a ton of work to catch up on, and took a quick weekend trip for Easter -- it just seemed to go on and on.
Not that I'm complaining, mind you.
Besides being sick and all the work, it was a pretty great month.
And there were a few pretty great products that I definitely relied on in March.

Best New Products of 2012 (and One Big Disappointment)
If I sat down and tried to write a post about my favorite products of this past year, it would be a novel.
Seriously.
There are tons of products that I loved in 2012, but some of them I've loved for years now and I've already mentioned them more than enough times on this blog anyway.
Instead, I thought I'd focus on new products that I found this year that really knocked my socks off. Now, I've probably blogged about some of them plenty of times but this will be my last word on them, I swear.

July goodies |
Since tomorrow is August 1st (it really is terrifying how fast time starts to go as you get older...), it's time to share my July Favorites.
But I should preface this post by confessing that I've already written about every item on my list before - some of them pretty recently, actually. I just don't have it in me to fake a favorites list of new items, though. These were my honest to goodness favorites this month, so I'll share them but just keep the blabbering to a minmum.
Or try to anyway.
I do tend to ramble.

Smashbox Friends and Family Sale - Score 20% Off!
Smashbox is having a Friends and Family sale, so you can score 20% off your favorite goodies - or new products that you've been wanting to try.
The only catch is that you have to spend at least $25 to get the discount.
Use the code FRIENDS20 at checkout.
The sale is good until Sunday, June 10 at 11:59 EST.
If you're looking for shopping suggestions, I'm a big fan of the new Smashbox BB Cream (which you can read more about here) and also think the Be Legendary Lipsticks are pretty fabulous. Oh, and their Nude Lip Pencils too! I've also heard good things about their new Limitless 15 Hour Wear Cream Shadows, but I haven't tried those myself just yet.
If you wind up picking anything up, let me know what. I'm probably sitting this sale out, so I'll need to live vicariously...
Happy Shopping!

April Favorites

Quite a few favorites this month... |
I know that I'm a little early with my monthly favorites list, but I always feel like I should do it when I think of it since I've been having a little problem with forgetfulness lately.
And April's practically over - I'm pretty sad to see it go because it's been a pretty good month. Well, the Mets have played better than expected anyway and makeup wise, there were quite a few products that rocked my world.
It doesn't take much to make me happy.

Favorite Lip Liners

Smashbox Nude Lip Pencil in Fair (top) & Too Faced Perfect Lips Pencil (bottom) |
I’m not really a lip liner girl.
When I wear tricky lipstick shades like red, I always whip one out. But on a day to day basis, I don’t usually
take the time for one. Most of the lipsticks or glosses that I wear are light
to mid-tone shades that don’t really need any help, and because my skin is so
fair, my lips are naturally pretty defined.
However, if I wear really light lip shades (like my beloved
Innocence Beware from MAC), my lips need a little definition to keep me
from looking washed out. Instead of buying a bunch of different lip liners to
match every shade of lipstick and gloss in my collection, though, I feel like a
good liner that’s just a bit darker than my natural lip color is all I really
need.
