Product Review -- It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation Full Coverage Moisturizer

One of my favorite face products of all time is the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream.

I love how lightweight it feels and how natural it looks on the skin -- and I love that unlike most CC creams, it really does deliver some pretty impressive coverage.

Now, I know it's not for everyone -- it has a pretty dewy finish, so if you have oily skin, it's not the best option -- but for me, it's a face product that does pretty much everything I want and need.

So I was curious when I saw that It Cosmetics was coming out with a new product, the Bye Bye Foundation Full Coverage Moisturizer -- because it seemed like it would be pretty similar to the CC+ Cream and I couldn't really figure out why both would be necessary.

They come in the same type of packaging -- a squeeze tube with a pump dispenser, which makes it very easy to get out just the right amount, as well as empty the entire tube without wasting any product. You get slightly more with the CC+ Cream, though: 1.08 fl. oz (32 g) vs 1 fl. oz (30 g).

They have a very similar consistency -- a fairly thick creamy texture that's similar to a moisturizer or face cream. Both products also contain SPF50+ too, which is a nice bonus in a face product.

I have both products in the shade Fair, and while they're similar, they're not identical. The Bye Bye Foundation Fair is a smidge lighter than the CC+ Cream.

The Bye Bye Foundation does have a slightly larger shade range -- 12 vs. 7 -- though neither is particularly impressive. It Cosmetics could definitely stand to add some darker shades over all.

In terms of coverage, they're both pretty similar in that regard too -- though I think I might give the edge of the CC+ Cream. These are products that probably cover about 85% (maybe 90% in case of the CC+ Cream) of my discolorations, so I do usually need to follow up with a little concealer.

Both look pretty natural on the skin, though I think the Bye Bye Foundation has a more matte finish as composed to the dewiness of the CC+ Cream.

All in all, they really do seem like similar products to me, so I'm not sure why both are needed in the range. Personally, I find that I prefer the CC+ Cream just a bit more (I'll be honest -- that could be just familiarity... I've been using it for years compared to just a couple of weeks for the Bye Bye Foundation), so while I will happily use the Bye Bye Foundation, it's the CC+ Cream I'll opt for when it's time to repurchase.

Still, I think the Bye Bye Foundation is a good product, particularly for days when you're not looking for a full-coverage, completely flawless sort of look. I don't find that I even need to set it with powder to get it to last, which I usually do with the CC+ Cream.

It retails for $39.50 (compared to $38 for the CC+ Cream) and is available on the It Cosmetics website and at Ulta.

Have you tried the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation Full Coverage Moisturizer? Are you a fan?
