Shopping Bag -- Tons of Drugstore Lip Products and a Couple of Eye Products

I've been accumulating lip products at a somewhat alarming rate over the past couple of months.

Fortunately, most have been from the drugstore where I'm lured into purchases by the oh-so tempting BOGO-1/2 off offer, so I haven't spent a ton of money.

Still, I have more lip products that any rational person needs but I've come to terms with that.

This Shopping Bag also includes a couple of eye products for good measure.

Maybelline Color Whisper Lipsticks in Nude Shimmer, I Crave Coral & Sienna Sands

I think I've made my love for the Maybelline Color Whispers pretty clear, but just in case I haven't, I think the fact that I keep buying new ones is a pretty good indication of my feelings.

I couldn't resist when I saw some of the shades from the limited edition spring collection.

As you can tell from the swatches, Nude Shimmer's color is non-existent.  But it's true to its name, I suppose -- if you just want to add shimmer and shine to your lips without any color, it works well.  I actually like it for no-makeup makeup days.

I Crave Coral is a gorgeous coral shade. If Coral Ambition is a bit too bright for you, this shade is definitely more wearable.

Sienna Sands is a pretty bronze-y rose shade.

Revlon Lip Butters in Wild Watermelon, Pink Lemonade, Juicy Papaya, Berry Smoothie, Red Velvet & Pink Truffle

Just like I couldn't resist Maybelline's new Color Whispers, I couldn't resist the new Revlon Lip Butters either.

Orignally, I had my heart set on Juicy Papaya, but when I found the display at my local Walgreen's, all the Juicy Papayas were gone.  Instead, I went with Pink Lemonade and, on a total whim, Wild Watermelon.

And boy, am I glad I did.  I am absolutely in love with Wild Watermelon.  I'm not usually a fan of bright lipsticks, but this pinky-red shade is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for summer.

Pink Lemonade is a light, frosty pink.

Of course, I was determined to track down Juicy Papaya and when I finally did at a local CVS, I was "conned" into buying some of the older shades that I'd always wanted by a BOGO offer -- Berry Smoothie, Red Velvet and Pink Truffle.

Juicy Papaya is a lovely peachy/coral shade, so I definitely think it was worth the trouble of tracking down.

Berry Smoothie is a light berry shade that's totally wearable for fair or light skin.

Pink Truffle is a mid-tone pinky brown.

Red Velvet is a brownish red that's a great first step into red lipstick if you're a little tentative.

Revlon Colorburst Lipglosses in Bellini, Rosepearl & Peony

I actually bought my Revlon Colorburst Lipglosses a few months back and never got around to posting about them.

I'd been lusting after Bellini for at least a year after seeing it in countless YouTube videos -- it is a gorgeous milky peach shade and as someone with a pretty impressive peach lipstick collection, it's the perfect complement to so many other lip products.

I bought Rosepearl because I saw emilynoel83 from Beauty Broadcast on YouTube recommend it and she's got pretty great taste.  She's definitely right about Rosepearl -- it's a gorgeous shimmery rose shade that would complement most skintones.

I picked up Peony on a whim (and probably to fufill another BOGO offer) and I'm glad I did. It's a beautiful peachy pink shade with lots of shimmer.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains in Romantic and Honey

I didn't actually buy the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Romantic. It came in my February PopSugar Must Have Box as a perfect red lip shade for Valentine's Day -- and I have to say it is a nice red color for those are a little intimidated by the concept of bold red lips (like me).

I purchased Honey shortly after receiving Romantic because I'd forgotten how much I liked the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain formula. It's a pretty midtone pink with mauve-y undertones.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Icy Mint

After picking up the limited edition Maybelline Color Tattoos for Spring 2013, I went back to Walgreen's to see if they had any more that I could use for a giveaway.

Unfortunately, there was only one left.  But it was in a shade that I hadn't picked up so I decided that it was a sign that I should buy it too.

Icy Mint is a pretty light mint color.  It's pretty sheer, but it looks really fresh on the eyes if you put it over a white base.

L'Oreal Infalliable Eyeshadow in Cherie Merie (Miss Candy Collection)

When I first walked past the display for L'Oreal's spring collection, Miss Candy, I didn't think I was going to buy anything.

Then I saw the Infallible Eyeshadow in Cherie Merie and I had to have it.

I've seen the shade described as coral, but it's really more of a coppery orange in my mind.  Either way, it makes blue eyes pop like nobody's business.

What items have wound up in your shopping bag lately?

  1. Hi Jennifer,
I bought Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Bellini after watching Chloe Morello's Glowing & Bronzed tutorial and it's become my "go to", either buy itself or over lipstick. Glad to see your review on it!

    1. It's such a gorgeous gloss that I'm kicking myself for not picking it up sooner. :)
