My Current Wishlist Or: Items I'm Interested in Trying

My foundation drawer's already overflowing, but more than half of my wishlist is face products. Crazy!

I try to responsible when it comes to the money that I spend on my makeup – I generally give myself a budget that I’m allowed to spend each month and try my hardest to stick to it. Now, admittedly, I’m probably only half successful. I have a habit of buying things kind of impulsively. So far in the new year, I’ve been pretty good, though. One of my tricks for sticking to my budget is keeping a running tally – a wish list, if you will – of all the items that I’m interested in so when I have money to spend, I know what I’m going to get. Here are the things I’m interested in trying right now (in no particular order):

1.       Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! Foundation – I was really excited to hear that Benefit was coming out with a liquid foundation. The formula is oil-free, has an SPF of 25 and is supposed to brighten the skin. I’m a little skeptical that the lightest shade, Pure for Sure Ivory, will actually match my skin tone, but I’d like to give it a chance at some point.

2.       Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer –  I am a big fan of Nars face products – in particular, I loved Nars’ old Oil Free Foundation and really like the Sheer Glow formula even if the lightest shade, Siberia, is a little too yellow for my skin tone. So I probably would want to try their new tinted moisturizer regardless of any claims that they made about the product. But Nars made sure that I wouldn’t be able to resist at all by adding the one magic word that inevitably sucks me in when it comes to foundation and face products – radiant. I love a dewy, glowy finish, and I like the lightweight feel of tinted moisturizers, so I am excited to give this a try.

3.       Tarte ReCreate Anti-Aging Foundation – Yes, I am a total foundation whore - I admit it. As I mentioned in my post about foundations for fair skin, I love the color of Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Foundation in Fair, but the formula can look cakey when my skin is dry or dehydrated from Retin-A. I’m hoping that the ReCreate Foundation offers a similar color but with a more moisturizing formula.

4.       Benefit Hervana – I adore Benefit’s boxed blushes and powders. Not only is the packaging amazing , they smell great and come in such a wide variety of colors. Hervana has me intrigued because it’s a cool toned blush – and many of the reviews I’ve read say it’s perfect for fair skin.  Sold!

5.       Too Faced Natural Face Palette – Yeah, I’m kind of a blush whore too. Anything that can make my skin glow appeals to me. I love Too Faced’s shadow palettes, so the face palette seems like a nice addition to my collection. It has a luminizer, bronzer, and cream and powder blushes- I like the idea of having all of those products in a single spot, particularly for travel.

6.       The Balm Cabana Boy – One more blush for good measure! I think that I’ve made my love for the Balm pretty well known here, but the only items I’ve actually tried from the line are their eye shadows. I definitely want to branch out and their blushes are first on my wish list. In particular, Cabana Boy’s caught my eye because it’s a deep rosy color that’s unlike anything else in my collection. ( I’m also interested in the Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer but I didn’t want this list to go on forever)

Do you keep a running list of items that you want to try?  What’s currently on your wish list? Have you tried any of the items on my list?  Do you recommend them?
