Product Review -- Tarte Tartelette Tease Palette

I'm a big fan of the Tarte Tartelette Palette and maybe even a bigger fan of the Tartelette 2 In Bloom Palette.

That's because the original all matte version offers really nice, smooth shadows, but the newest version has a few shimmery shades thrown in too, and I'm someone who usually wants at least a little shimmer in my eye looks.

Those palettes are $45 each, though, and while I think they're worth every penny, they might not fit everyone's budget.

Enter the Tartelette Tease Palette.

It is a much smaller version of the second palette -- and when I say that, I don't mean that there are any duplicate shades in it. The six shades are all brand new, but they sort of continue the same color scheme and the mix of matte and shimmer shades.

But it's only $21 and it's small enough that it'll easily fit in most purses or even your pocket (if you're so inclined).

It comes in fun pink, purple, and gold sturdy cardboard packaging, There is a mirror on the inside, but it's pretty small so it's pretty best just for touch-ups.

The six shades include Whisper, a matte light pink; Crush, a shimmery golden taupe; Heartbreaker, a matte dark brown; Wink, a matte light mauve; First Kiss, a shimmery mauvey taupe; and BFF, a matte plummy brown.

The formula for the shadows is the same as it is in the Tartelette 2 -- they're nicely pigmented, smooth, and creamy, including the matte shades -- so this palette is really easy to work with.

I love pretty much all the shades, but First Kiss and BFF are probably my faves -- a shimmery taupe with mauve undertones is kind of my ideal color, and I am all about warm plummy/burgundy-ish brown shades these days.

My one complaint with the palette as someone who is super fair is that besides the highlight shades, all of the other shadows show up pretty dark or smoky on my skin. I wish there was one shade darker than Whisper and Wink and lighter than Crush and First Kiss.

But that's a minor point, really, because all of the looks that I've done with the palette have been lovely and appropriate for both day and night.

I mentioned that the palette is small enough to fit in most purses, which I think makes it so convenient. It's not just good for traveling; it would be ideal for tossing in your bag and using it to touch up your makeup or bump up your eye look if you're going out after work or school too.

For $21, I really don't think you can wrong.

You can purchase the palette at the Tarte website, Ulta, Sephora, and anywhere else you can buy Tarte products.

Have you tried the Tarte Tartelette Tease Palette? What's your favorite look to do with it?

  1. I get that there´s an in-between shade missing. That was my first thought seeing the swatches but all in all it´s a really nice looking nude palette. :) I can see a lot of people getting this - especially those who are trying the brand for the first time.

    1. You're right -- it would be a great introduction to the brand. Tarte has really improved their eyeshadow formula in recent years too. These are so nicely pigmented and easy to work with.
